i'm not sure about the tube, but as long as it wouldn't let anything get in the cylinder walls or on the top side of the pistons, it should be ok. one side goes to the swash plate and the other side?? crankcase??also, doug said that it will help to vent the crankcase once you plug any holes. if not the crankcase will build up pressure and try to squeeze oil/grease out of any orifice possible

Re: Greasing a sanden

damnit i hate seeing these edc threads. Im nearly 100% positive i can cram a sanden where my stock ac went on my truck. And that grese mod looks nice. After you grease it all down, and put it back together should you put a zerk on it and fill it completely or what?

Re: Greasing a sanden

i think you tap the oil plug hole to fit a zerk fitting. good question about how much grease though. i've never heard if you fill it or just put a few pumps

Re: Greasing a sanden

No, the grease isn't goin anywhere. Its high performance grease that stays where you put it Its high shock, high pressure, high tempurature, it resists centrifugal seperation, haha

Re: Greasing a sanden

so once you put in that grease your done, as in no more adding to it, or should you disassemble and regrease periodically

Re: Greasing a sanden

Well the guy that started this thread has had his for quite some time now and as far as i know from this thread, he still hasn't had to regrease it and the grease wasn't showin signs of burnin up. Jus make sure not to skimp on the grease you use, spend the extra money and get higher performance grease

You dod need a check valve....if you use one with a plastic core (such as an SMC), make sure you place the check valve on your tank or atleast 4-6 ft ftom the compressors....you will also need a watertrap if your not running one

Yup you need one.

I've got my truck tore apart to replace an exhaust manifold, so I have the comp off. I'm gonna take it apart and check it out again, hopefully w/ some pics.

You need to open up those crank case vents or vent the crank case at the fill plug, the heat will expland the air inside the crank as well as blowby thus causing a posative pressure in thbe crank that will force grease out of every orficace it can haha. and not good on the compressor.

I worked with Sanden as well to find the best measn for Grease conversion.

Also Like you said, need to get every last drop of the old oil out of the compressor! That means fully disasebly of the compressor.

I hope this helps.
Ok, so I need to vent the case.... seems like that would solve my grease passage problem. How's the best way to go about this?

And what did you use for the output line to the tank??? I'm thinkin bout doin stainless tubing. I don't really wanna use big ass ugly hydaulic line, ya know?

HOLY QUAD POST!!!!

Yours looks fine to me. I can't say how the SD7 is gonna do because mine's a 5, the rubber piston rings may react different for better or worse. I'll get pics up this afternoon after work.

I decided against the Lucs grease... cuz it said tacky, i don't know if that jus meant it stays in place or what but i know its high performance, I'm sure it would work jus fine...

Re: Greasing a sanden

hey flgatorsrule. in this pic with the wobble plate/clutch assembly, did you take it apart or leave it like that? if you left it, how did you go about cleaning the old oil out and getting the new grease around what i assume is a bearing under the wobble plate?

Re: Greasing a sanden

i left it together... I couldn't figure out how to take it apart... I soaked all the parts in gas to clean em and for that part, i jus held the clutch part out of the gas and rotated it back and forth cleanin all the oil out... Then i jus kept shovin grease in everywhere i could see till i felt comfortable with it. You can feel when its gettin lubed up good. And i put alot of extra grease in that part of the compressor as a whole and in the holes in that wobble plate...

Re: Greasing a sanden

the piece in the top right of that picture is the only piece i didnt SOAK in gas... I cleaned it with gas but i didn't soak it like the rest, cuz it has rubber gaskets on it and i didn't wanna screw em up. Hope that helps
