BB Front bag setup help

I have a 2wd blazer that I am currently building. I am going to be running a big block and need some help on my front suspension setup. I am planning on a 25" tall tire, using Suicidedoors control arms & Little Shop of Horrors steering linkage.

I am thinking about running Slam specialties RE7 bags, is there anything else I should consider?

The blazer is body droped, should I run a 3" tall cup or a 2" tall cup?

Stock spindels or drop spindles?

Also what is the best front sway bar to run? ZQ8 or aftermarket? If aftermarket which one?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: BB Front bag setup help

You have to figure out the size of the cup. Just get a big one then if you need to cut it down. Drop spindles or stock it doesn't matter there will be a difference in camber and bag cup height. Have no idea about sway bars.

Re: BB Front bag setup help

If you are only running a 25" tire, why buy the LSOH linkage? Its for guys with big wheels.

Again, with a 25" tire you really dont need lowers (dehump the stockers), even the uppers are questionable... unless you need the uppers for addtl space.

I ran a 25.5" tire, with 2" drop spindles, dehumped lowers, and stock uppers with no issues.

Re: BB Front bag setup help

your going to have to run a stock spindles. THe control arms will be on the ground with that short of a tire. Unless you are running a 26ish inch or larger tire, you would be very very smart to use stock spindles. You "should" be alright with a standard size cup and stock spindles with a 25 inch tire and the SD arms.

Re: BB Front bag setup help

I definetly want as little camber as possible.

Would I be better running a 27" tire up front and drop spindles?

Re: BB Front bag setup help

The 27" tire you will have to tub/mess around with heater box.

Run drop spindles with your tires. You will be fine.

Re: BB Front bag setup help

The blazer is body dropped and tuned already I can fit a 27" no problem but I am wanting to run the 25".

So it sounds like I should be ok with the SD arms, drop spindles, re7 bags, & 3" cups. I want to be able to drive low but I want to make sure I can steer fine and untuck my front wheels.

Re: BB Front bag setup help

Like I said before I run a 25.5" tire with drop spindles and stock arms with no issues at all. Even stock tie-rods are ok.

FORGET THOSE STILL DUMB CONTROL ARMS , YOUR GONNA CHANGE THA CAMBER WITH THEM ,PLUS WHY PAY $1,000 FOR ARMS WHEN FACTORY ARE BETTER W CAMBER .LMFAO
REMEBER TO BE AFTERMARKET , PART DESIGN CHANGES BECAUSE YOU CANT COPY, PATENTS PENDINGS, UNLESS SOMETHING IS CHANGED . AND THAT IS NOT ALWAYS A GOOD THING. THINK ABOUT IT ,EVERYONE WANTS AC DELCO FACTORY REPLACEMENT PARTS CUZ THEY LAST LONGER? NO CUZ THEY ARE THE FIRST AND USUALLY THE BEST DE DESIGIN FOR THAT ELECTRONIC PART,... SAME IN DIFF PARTS ...
ASK YOURSELF DO YOU WANT FACTORY OR (CHANGED) AFTERMARKET PARTS?

Re: BB Front bag setup help

thats the biggest load of crap ive ever heard, and turn off the caps lock

the bend in the tube arms put them lower to the ground, there are some threads around here somewhere, "rebuilding everyones favorite first gen" or something of the sorts have some damn good pics. Shorter rim/tires and drop spindles put the control either close too, or touching the ground at a point in the suspension travel. WHen you run a stock spindle, it lets the control arms cycle higher and gives you some more clearance. Call SD, or pm jason, its been talked about a million times, and when i talked to jason about building my arms, he asked about what size rim/tires i had and if i was running drop or stock spindles.

that makes good sense. I was thinking in regards to stock arms.

Right, but iwas in reference to the camber. factory will have less negative camber and keep it from looking like a "lowered ford" , bowed up, in the front.
