Re: Bagged on 20s

So, I wrote down the sizes I bought for the brakes but can't find the paper. What I do remember is the front brake port on the master cyl was 1/2", and the rear brakes were 9/16 I believe. Can't remember the thread count but it was a standard size. I think 1/2-20 and 9/16-18 sounds right. I believe the ports coming out of the abs unit are 1/2, 7/16. You can need a wildwood adj prop or similar for the rear.

It was a bit of a hassle. I'm going stainless, looks better, easier to do.

Re: Bagged on 20s

Its originally from down here in South Cackiliacki. The original builder did good welding , bt the air set up and electrical work was quite bad.

hood back on truck. Haven't closed it yet. Was extremely tired after my wife helped me put it back on.
oh ya, AaronK, the hinge came off a 1988 LeSabre, not a 1998. The hinges come on 1984-1988 Buick LeSabres.

There are a few.
Here is the first one I found here on this forum.
http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f199/1...w-pics-145615/
and this one.
http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f72/2n...how-to-222793/

I originaly read about it back in 2007 on the Blazinlow forum.
The first suicide hood I did, I made the hinge from 2 pieces of 1" by 1/8" thick flat stock metal,2 pieces of
angle steel that I cut in half, to make 4 pieces of short angle steel, 2 springs, and a few nuts and bolts I
bought at home depot. And fabbed up this creation.

I really should have put a cross brace on this hinge. Opening and closing the hodd would have been easier.

oh ya. Gotta clean out the brake fluid reservoir, fill if, bleed the brakes, check the lines and fittings. There is a small possibility I may try to get her out of the shop this weekend.

Re: Bagged on 20s

the picture of the blue s10 blazer I did a few years ago. I did the suicide hood on a fiberglass hood. I cut 2 small rectangular holes in the bottom f the hood and slid in 1 1/4" piece of flat stock steel in on each side. Each plate had two threaded holes cut in them for the hood bolts to tread to. The plates were about 9-12" longs.

Sorry I don't have any photos of the fabrication.

true. I had one of those HF bleeders. My stepfather broke it and never replaced it. I have pretty much all the parts to make this bleeder in my shop. My wife and I o to HF a couple times a month.

I'll snap a couple pics this week end. Are you asking about the HVAC blower motor? Its gone. the fire wall hole for it is filled and I have a Hot Rod Air HVAC unit under the dash.

Retro, the only tools I have from HF are a couple of cut off/grinders. I get my cutting and grinding wheels there and small stuff like wire loom and welding wire.
