Air Ride Guys?
Hey guys my name is Rob Im 27 from St Louis MO (North County)
Ive just got out of the drag racing game i built a few small block chevy s10s all 1st gens and just sold my 84 Buick regal small block 434 thats right i said a 434 cubic inch small block chevy. Anyways i had a bad crash 2 years ago and now im bored as hell with not playing with anything since im DONE with drag racing and the little trucks are catching my eye and seam very fun. My buddy has a 2001 Chevy blazer 2wd Auto 4.3 Red 2 door MINT! 41k miles not a scratch nick burn nothing anywere 100% bone stock .... He told me 3k and its mine so im picking it up this weekend .. I would love to put the truck on bags on the ground if i can.And the plans would be to turn this truck into a fun toy/show truck .... Plans .. Bag it Wheels ls1 motor swap System I just want something i can put my wife and son in and go for a ride ect...It was kinda hard to do this in a caged 9sec regal lol. I have every tool u can think of from teflon tape to a Lift.Ive done tons of preformance mods to s10s reared swaps tubing them out ect.. I would like to use the Blazer to pull my boat also ... its not huge its a 16ft flat bottom john boat. How hard is this air ride to install ?I can wire anything from a nitrous system to a cd player. Help me out guys im looking for something to keep my mind busy during the winter. Also im not looking for the cheap way out ... Ive been down them roads and they let you do something sooner but end up cost 2x more and wasteing 2x more of your time . I want a good system ... i would like to drive and not chew thru tires and have a clean instal with good bags and a pump and a tank so that i can take 300 mile trips and only have to worrie about have a air line repair kit or something .My brother is a damn good wleder and works rebuild cylinder pumps everyday for cranes booms rigs dozers ect..my buddy owns a body shop (paint and repair)I think we can make this truck sick in a short time..Also the ls1 swap would be just for the hell of it since i have ecu/harness/full motor with the trans. Re: Air Ride Guys?
Not if you stock floor it, since the name is STOCK floor. Thats where you make a new frame that lowers the body mounts and make a shorter frame.
There is def mroe work in a blazer than a s-10 since the rear is a pain compared between the 2. I'll seach and post some links to build threads on here for 2dr blazers, you can read through them and see exactly what your in for. |

Re: Air Ride Guys?
Yeah, with a blazer everything is gonna have to be custom built, for the most part. Theres a bunch of blazer project threads that you can look at here: http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f125/b...r-rear-337590/

Re: Air Ride Guys?
Lol everyone on here will definetly tell you to YES, do it.
Its really fun having a truck thats quality built and solid to cruise around in. But reading threads and seeing builds is prolly the number one way to figure out what you want done. because if you ask a specific question, there are alot of people that have different views and reasons why one thing is better than another. BUT.... EVERYONE will agree. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH AIM Industries/airbagit.com/SlamR.com(or whatever the gay it is) Stick with the vendors on s10forum like airridetech, suicidedoors ect. and a plug for my buddie, airridefittings.com lol If you have thought of it in your head(with that blazer), its been done and its been covered. So finding multiple ways to do one thing is an easy achievement. And reading threads, you will develop your own opinion on which YOU think is better.... Read Read Read.. thats what everyone is going to tell you. Good luck with the build and be sure to post pics along the way! Stock to custom! |

Re: Air Ride Guys?
Very very clean blazer I wish I could find one that clean to start with. I say go for it. Like it was said before if you can build drag cars you can definately build a bagged ride. I bagged my first ride before I messed with the internet fortunately for you. you have a wealth of information on this site to learn from. Good luck with your project and Please start a build thread when you start I would love to see the progress.

Re: Air Ride Guys?
The floor shouldn't be too hard to do.. It just might take a while. Do you want to keep your back seats or do you not really care? Because if you want to keep the back seats and have them somewhat useable it may take a bit more work and planning, obviousely.

I personally do not own a blazer but I've heard that you'll have a lot less headache if you plan on ditchin the backseats. Good to have ya here, ya sound like a fella who's been around a truck or two ![]() |

Re: Air Ride Guys?
My fav was my 91 355 fully custom tubed my first tuck....sold it as a roller on ebay for 3500.00 and bought my GTP and tossed a ton of money in it had it 100% done then 3days later this happend. Before ![]() AFTER ![]() Sad to think a 12 sec car scared me away from racing but it did... after this i drove my regal 2 times... Now i have no need for speed at all.. thousands of dollars in medical bills and i paid 9k cash for the gtp less then 20k on it it had 32k on it when totaled .Almost done about 80% it ran 1 pass at 9.94 @136pmh with a 1.8 60ft first pass ever also.NO cage with a DOT Mickey Thompson's.Custom 4link . ![]() Last edited by Rollinunknown : 11-04-2009 at 12:53 AM. |

Re: Air Ride Guys?
Cool since your on a boat quit quoting all those pics you can see.
Anyways, looks like a clean start. I def wish I would have found a nice 2dr instead of my 4dr would have made things alot easier. You can lay out the front on 22's, alot of people have done it, and some bodydropped. So its easily possible with just laying frame. And blazers sit a little higher than trucks so theres slightly less tubbin to be done in the firewall area. A good look into how much work you'll need to do in the front would be xtucking22's build thread. He built his xtreme truck to lay on 22's . |

Re: Air Ride Guys?
That was the pic of the motor that was in the Regal.I have some more in the car pics they look like dirt at that time . I have a few of the gtp Motor but it looks stock besides the pulley/tb/injectors and a nitrous kit . If they need some help pm me there number i can help them out .. i spent about 3 months building the gtp motor. It by far was my Fav toy . But i do have pics of the build of the motor .. crank/rods/pistions cam/rockers all the good stuff... u can build a decent 3800v6 cheaper then i did but i built with the best parts.Anyone who thinks 3800 v6's are a slouch they are nuts! You should see the numbers when they are bolt on a turbo.
