1st gen. bag questions

ok so im gettin ready to buy a 84 s10 long bed 2.8 4 speed. it runs but needs a carb rebuild. i planned on bagging int for my senior year so i can drag the shit out of it in front of school (show off) everyone said it would never happen so ima prove people wrong. so my question is. i dont have a welder on hand an i don know where i could get one because i dont have any outlets that is big enough for the welder. so is there anyway i might be able to rent one with an adapter or something? or should i just go bolt on. an if i go bolt on how sturdy will that be and which setup should i go for? i want this thing on the frame. now i had a 2nd gen an sold that now im going to 1st gen. anyone had any ideas or suggetions im hear to listen the sooner i start the better. sorry its so long lol

Re: 1st gen. bag questions

1. you could always use a 110v welder
2. buy a bolt on kit..

Re: 1st gen. bag questions

yo i got an 88 longbed and i love it!! i got the front baggged wit dominators and its all bolt on just used an l -head grinder with a cutting wheel. fronts are easy and im laying front crossmember and y pipe. the rear i just ordered the behind and under brackets with dominator 2600 but im going to have to have my buddy weld those on but i imagine a 110v welder would do the trick.. they just plug into any normal outlet. Just doing a bolt in notch so i wont have to weld that in but sd does make a bolt in full notch and from what i hear they are just fine no problems... i got small tires so i will lay with a bolt in 2.25 notch. just gotta cut a hole in bed for the rear dif.. oh and gotta nake sure i dont drag through gas tank til i get the 3 link

Re: 1st gen. bag questions

I would go with sd bolt on kit if u do not have a welder. As for the front bagging process that's pretty simple.

Re: 1st gen. bag questions

I know I sound like a dick, but start searching and reading alot on the forum it has a ton of good threads that you could learn from. Check out suicidedoors.com they carry a couple bolt on 4 link kits and adapters that make it a 100% bolt on for the axle mount also.
