bad news today (but it could have been worse) the wire that i used on my relays sucked, and apparently it had been melting through, so today, i was driving home and i noticed smoke rising from my center console, a second later, one of my guage lines blew, giving me a nice slow leak. i turned off the compressors and the cd player, put the truck as high up as i could and dashed on home.
i get home to find the wires i used for power on the secondary circuit of the relay and the wiring to my compressor switch has completely melted through. it melted through my guage line, my carpet, other wires... lots of stuff. i'm just lucky the truck didn't catch fire. anyone know what size wire i should be using for all that? my main power wire was 8 guage, but everything else was like 14 or 16. so it looks like the truck is outta commission till i get my new relay from phil and redo all the compressor wiring...  |

Thank GOD it didnt burn too the ground 2 days after being finished!!!!!!!! I would go up to maybe 10-12 gauge wire. |

yeah, as soon as it started smoking, i pulled the cd player outta the console and yanked the power wires from the compressor switch. burned my hand a little bit, lol. but it stopped it from gettin any hotter. (i also think this is why my one compressor liked to keep running, a couple wires melted together, lol.
i'm glad i caught it, and i ordered some triple insulated 10guage wire for all the comp wiring, except for the main power wire which will be 4 and 8 guage. |

im runnin 4 gauge with 200 amp fuse to the breaker. and from the breaker to the comps 2 foot im running 8 gauge. and the comps are grounded to the frame.
 if ya need wire or nething jst let me know |

damn, i should have gotten with you... i already ordered some wire. the wire that melted was from autozone... i don't think it was bad. just too small. and i'll get some pics up tomorrow!! |

haha... sorry bro. after the fire thingy i pulled the bed again to rewire the shit. so it looks just like the old pics w/o the bed on. AS soon as i get the bed back on, i'll snap bunches of pics (which is what i was going to do when i had the fire, off to a photoshoot. lol)

haha, phil and his friend came up to mattoon last night in his friends huge ass lifted desiel GMC. he was doin fuckin donuts and shit in a grassy patch behind the mall in four wheel drive. he hit a rut and bent the helllll out of his front driverside tie-rod. then when they were tryin to bend it back by pulling on it with another truck, it broke completely.
when i left they were trying to put it on a trailer that was wayyyy too small for it. it was pretty comical. hehe |

my friends a dumbass but hes fun to hang out with. trucks pretty quick to. but when we broke it in my yard it put a major hurtin on the truck we dont have fixed yet.
on 37 inch slicks and t bars turned down and rear bags empty  its on 35s now cuz the others where slicks and hes got 39.5s for it and hes talking about getting 42s |
