yeah buddy

oops. what do we have here???

first pic is how much lift i can get with my shop compressor. not too bad.

being held up by the inner fenders. its bout 1 1/2 - 2" from layin out. the only prob i've got right now is an air leak on the driver side. sounds like it might be where the airline connects to the fitting. but i will go back to that after i get the whole thing done and are tying up loose ends.

off to go start taking the bed off!!!!

yeah, they are push to connect. they are expensive and cheap plastic. not really that impressed. the leak is pretty fast. bout 10min from full to laid out.

sounds decent. i didn't get to turn it up too loud because i didn't want to wake the neighbors...

but from what i heard, i like the sound it has. much cleaner sound than the subs hitting against the back of the seat.

Re: yeah buddy

E brake will come apart inside the drum, then pull it out that way,if its like the first gens.
I didnt realize you were doing this outside, come time to weld it needs to not be a windy day,as the wind will blow the welding gas out.

Re: yeah buddy

so how windy is too windy?? i was thinkin i could take one of those tent type awning deals, and use a couple tarps to add some sides to it... you think this might work? if not, perhaps i can figure a way to get the truck into the garage, lol. not sure how i would do that, but who knows.

Re: yeah buddy

Ya a tent awning with sides would work.Probably any breeze over 10mph or so,I know at work you can not even have a fan pointing at ya when ya weld, otherwise it blows the gas out.Sucks on hot days !

Re: yeah buddy

lots o progress today. it was a brutal day, haha. i'm worn the hell out.

got the axle the rest of the way out. just decided to ditch the ebrake. haha. even tho it is a 5spd i didn't use it that much and well, i can just put it in gear and lay the ass out for my ebrake for now on. haha

got the gas tank out, and the gas tank crossmember out.

put the new tank crossmember in to see how she looks.

got both the leaf spring perches out. grrrrr. these were my biggest pain in the ass for the day. the rivets just did not want to come out for anything.
had to progressively drill them out with larger bits... pure pain in the ass.

got one of the perches notched and painted up.

on the to-do list still is: (and i'm sure i've forgotten something here)
-finish the other spring perch up
-get the spring perches relocated using the template and reinstalled
-get the tank crossmember in their for good
-drill new holes for the front tank strap
-get the tank back in there.
-get the axle cleaned up and ready for welding.
-get the frame cleaned up where the notch will be welded.

should be able to get most of this done tomorrow and into thurs a little.

after that i'll be givin you a call josh!! there's lots to be welded. hehe.
btw, just let me know what i owe you for welding wire and shiz, and ill get it to you. i appricate you doin it for me!

i actually think i will be ready for sunday! if you want to count on that we can, if thats not enough notice, its cool. i will make a list of all the things that need welded. besides the major things there are a few small things, like a turndown on the end of the exhaust, and the charcoal canister bracket.

if you have any extra jack stands you could spare for that day, it would be sweet. i need 2 more to put the axle up in there to set the pinion and shizz.

also, do you have an inclometer thingy? i can buy one if i need to, but if you had one that would be sweet.

wooooooot. i'm so pumped to get this thing rolling.
