New "project" pics and assesments.
Well it drove home under its own power,(80 miles roughly)however it drove like a dumptruck!!!The wife followed me and told me it smelled rich, well I now know why,the damn tank is leaking!Grrrrrrr........I found out the front springs have been cut,and the sway bar endlinks are gone!Has a heck of an oil leak on the drivers side, could be valve cover gasket?the fan is like froze up so its very noisy, its like the fluid is always cold in the thermostatic fan.It needs new window traingles both sides, new door pins driver side, need the rear hatch opener installed, needs new arm rest hinges(already have some
)new tailgate plastic interior peice. As you can see it needs some patch panels and a new fender. So this may not get on the road ASAP,need to hunt down a fuel tank first of all!!!!!Anyway done with the bitch list now a couple pics: ![]() ![]() You can see the fuel leak in this pic! |

Re: New "project" pics and assesments.
I plan to do some body work and a new fender and then fix the front coils/endlinks and lay it in black primer for now.
All this and still get the 88 Blazer done by June, thank GOD BasketBall season is almost over!!!! |

Re: New "project" pics and assesments.
Nah,Ive gt 3 inch springs, but was saving them for the 88,but we will see,I dont want stock height, damn Blazers are high riders!
Thats a 3inch block in the back BTW!Thus the reason Im going with 4 inch blocks on the 88. |

Re: New "project" pics and assesments.
Thanks Charles.
Dont want stock height springs though. I did a little work just now, figured out why the clutch sucked,it needed fluid! LOL Man this thing has oil from the engine too the rear bumper, need a good power wash to find the exact leak! The front springs arent cut, after jacking the front up and getting a good look, they are purple,so they are aftermarket springs,I guess the front just sits lower because of the lack of endlinks. I need a inner rear tailgate panel and Im ordering the new rear hatch latch,I need to rewire the rear popper though, although my 88 does not have this so I will see how it work manualy. So far I'm about $300 into parts and then my own work, then I move on to body panels. Enough for now. |

and guess what, hes got everything I need parts wise for my rear gate,a gray gate trim panel, shocks, latch assemblies etc!!!So I just saved some bread!!! Dalton,if you read this,I really need those door panels back ASAP! |

Re: New "project" pics and assesments.
Ya thats Blazer #2,the 88 is in the middle of a V-8 swap.
Yes,the 2nd gens have a smaller hub size, the first gens are a bit bigger,so you have to sand a little out of the centers of the rims for them too fit,well........they will fit,but good luck getting them off !LOL Nice meeting ya today, good looking truck, whats your plans?? Heres Blazer #1,its a little further along then this now. ![]() Last edited by jtcfanof3 : 02-24-2008 at 09:09 PM. |

Re: New "project" pics and assesments.
well I've got a few issues to address with the truck before anything happens, namely brakes, bearings, and the fuel filter. I'm hopefully going to be done with it this week. After that, I'm looking at a 4/5 drop for it, I was going to do 5/6 but seeing as how this is my daily at the moment, I don't think it would be the wisest choice (plus the speed bumps on either side of my apartment aren't too forgiving). I hear Phil was sneezing the whole way back from monical's, let's hope he doesn't have to pay a visit to the hospital. When do you see the 350 swap being done?

Re: New "project" pics and assesments.
haha yeah phil was messed up, puffy eyes and shit I was laughin, almost had to give him another 20... but anyways chris, bring your truck over with the parts and we can do it at the shop this weekend, I get off at 4 on friday, only about 20min. from bloomington and 5/6 isn't too bad you might hit your frame on a few things (McDonalds speed bumps) thats how my black s10 was, but never hurt anything.

Re: New "project" pics and assesments.
unfortunately there's no guarantees the parts will be here come friday afternoon (plus from the look of it, summit doesn't carry 2" tapered blocks so I'm stuck with 1" blocks till I can find the right ones
). I'll be crossing my fingers that it all shows up on time. [/thread_jack] |

Re: New "project" pics and assesments.
New patch panel on and the new wheels, they are only semi polished so the center caps would still match.I need to get new lug nuts so the caps can be mounted on with the plastic caps, but you get the idea!
![]() BTW,whoever wants the Camaro wheels, come get them,I dont need all this extra crap laying around! They just need some cleaning up and maybe a polish and they would look good. Last edited by jtcfanof3 : 03-07-2008 at 06:10 PM. |
