Why we recommend trimming dust shields...
![]() the marks are where they contacted the LCA's...this wear is after about 7-8 months but you can still see how much it rubs (and would still squeek and buzz on the highway)... |

so its the piece right behind the rotor? what happens if you don't trim this. i haven't heard much about the dust shields. i'm getting ready to put a 3/4 drop on my 98 ext. cab noma. just wanna know everything before i get started. thanks

it can squeek on bumps or any real suspension movement and ive heard some vibrations from there on the highway

ive been hearing a squeak that may be attributed to that. would this be on a bagged truck or static? Do you hear it just over bumps?

in those pics. what type, and how, lowering was used/done ? and on what truck ? i have 1 1/2" coils and 2" spindles on my 95. and the sheilds have plenty of room.

i used tin snips and did it by hand....its not bad if you got good snips (had to sharpen these a hair and theyre old as fock) and Tim recommends usin snips as well...less chance of damaging the rotor
