Ok, how does this sound as far as a 3/4 drop?

Ok, after a little more research, I've decided against the DJM control arms. I called a tech, and all he could tell me was that they fit good with the stock wheels. Besides, some of you were right, I may want to go lower later, and this way all I'd have to do is change the springs out.
So how does this sound; DJM spindles and 1" drop springs for the front, Belltech leaf springs and 1" blocks on the rear.
Now, do I go with Toxic or Belltech shocks? And do I still need to get a pinion shim kit? The truck will be an extended cab.
Isn't it funny that I'm doing all of this research for a truck that I don't even have yet?

if you have an ex cab then yes, you need pinion shims. and a spacer for your carrier bearing since ex cabs have a 2-piece driveline, i think djm sells the spacer. i would also get the crossmember too since the stock one hangs down wayyyy too low, suicide doors makes one.

Does that crossmember bolt-in? And could you send me a link to that?

If you can get your blocks and stuff here:
http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Par...ng-Blocks.html

Yes you'll need shims and IMO Belltech Nitro 2's are way better.

You can save some money and pick up the Summit shocks from their website. greencactus3 usually reccomends them.

Make sure you get the angled blocks also. And the crossmember is pretty simple to install, make sure you do that before you drop it.

www.performancecenter.com
Has the cheapest prices on Belltech stuff. Got all four of my shocks there for like $130 shipped.

Re: Ok, how does this sound as far as a 3/4 drop?

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the help. Hopefully I'll get all of this new house stuff out of the way soon so that I can start looking for a new truck. Otherwise I won't be able to start looking until Spring.

What ever you end up doing, when you get it done, measure and check your pinion angle to see if you used the right angled shims. You may need to make a correction with different degree shims and won't know until after the drop is done. And get an alignment!

Um, the alignment is a no-brainer. I wouldn't do a drop without getting one afterwards. I will have to remember to face the shims the right way though. It'll be something that I'll put in there wrong, I always do.

Just don't take measuring to check the pinion angle lightly. Those double cardon joints are expensive to replace.

Really? I'm used to paying $20. How much is expensive?

Yeah I know. I used to be an assistant manager at Advance Auto Parts, and I remember how expensive those things were. I think that we had to order them too.

Not the double cardon joints in the two piece drive shafts.

Mine makes this real loud clank noise every time I put it in gear, the other day I put it in drive the rear u-jount broke and so did the 2 flanges, the driveshaft just dropped to the ground. I duck taped it all back together and it works great now!
