need ideas/help with static drop

hey guys. new to this website and just wanted to say i love it. tons of ideas and information. had a question for everyone. i purchased some lowering springs and monoleafs with 3 inch blocks in the rear from a friend. i believe it gave me a 4/6 drop. (like a bonehead i didnt measure before i started). and installed them on my '82 s10. the install went fine with no major hickups. just curious if anyone had any ideas how to get my truck lower without going to an airbag suspension setup? would love to just don't have the money right now.

Need to lose the mono leafs, they're dangerous and ride like crap. You can get a 7" drop by getting 3" leafs and 4" blocks, but that isn't recommended.

The lowest you can go up front is 5" with 2" spindles/3" coils

well I mean you could do a 5/7, but I wouldn't do a 4" block.

i've owned a lowered ranger and c10 but i've never had monoleafs, why so bad/dangerous? the truck isn't a daily driver yet but went around the block a few times and didn't seem terrible

Re: need ideas/help with static drop

They bounce bad and one leaf is way too thin to support the entire back half of the vehicle. I would NEVER run monos

Re: need ideas/help with static drop

ahh i see. good thing its only been around the block a few times. truck isn't really road worthy. (no exhaust past the cat, bad brakes, lots o rust) would love to run air bags just not ready to shell out the money, not very familiar with them to try to build my own setup for the front or the rear. so i guess my options at this point are pretty much bolt on stuff. need to do some reading on here maybe someone can help with setups they've done that work well

Re: need ideas/help with static drop

you can pull a leaf off your stock setup and that'll drop it about 1.5" from stock height.
