Need help lowering!!

I'm new to this web site but have already found out tons of use full info, but i want to lower my stock sonoma but still have enough room to clear 18's or 19's. What would ya'll suggest as far as brand, how low, and what parts will i need because bagging is out on how much i use my truck bed. I may can do ome trading on some 18's if anyone has a lowering kit or parts. Thanks for the help and info. Cory

Welcome to the forum!

well here is a tire fitment chart to help you find out how low you can go with the size tire you have.

http://www.s10forum.com/node/47

as far as brand, Belltech, DJM are the most popular and im guessing you could probably do a 3/4 drop or a 2/3 drop.

with spindles and blocks you do not need shorter shocks, but with springs and leafs you do need shorter shocks or else your factory ones will go bad.

also is your truck an extended cab or regular cab? if its an extended cab you will need to get angled blocks and check your pinion angle, if its regular cab you need straight blocks and you could possibly need setback plates to prevent the drive shaft from bottoming out into the tranny (wont know until you drop it)

summitracing.com has all the drop parts you need and this thread here ---->http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f12/co...numbers-95599/ will help you find the parts at summit if you cant seem to find them.

im not sure about that... that site has belltech spindles at $164.14 (free shipping)

summitracing.com has them for $149.95 with $11.75 handling so $161.70 shipped.

Re: Need help lowering!!

^well they're usually the cheapest anywhere, they're about $30 cheaper than summit on Blazer spindles, and a lot cheaper on their leafs as well.

Yeah DJM, McGaughy's, and Belltech are all on the same level. Just don't go with Chassis Tech or Bullit

Re: Need help lowering!!

How good are your stock shocks? If they are worn, you should go ahead and get drop coils. If they are good, get spindles.

Re: Need help lowering!!

I was told if you want better ride quality to go spindles and leafs.... I dont guess there is really a better way to lower it as both ways will get you low, its just how you want to ride after you lower it.

Drop leafs are so much nicer than drop blocks as far as ride quality, I wish I spent the extra cash when I first dropped my truck. Blocks suck, but they are cheap.
