Lowering question

Im pretty sure my truck is dropped with coils on the front and blocks in the back, Its a 99 s10 single cab 5 speed. Now my question is if i got the stock springs back and dropped the front with spindles would that give me a smoother ride and can you use stock shocks with drop spindles?

Re: Lowering question

If you have drop coils and stock shocks then thats why it rides like crap. If you have drop coils and drop shocks it should still ride nice, depending on whose products the previous owner used. But to cut it short and answer the question, if you go back to stock coils and drop spindles then it will ride like it did factory. With factory coils and drop spindles you would run factory height shocks. Hope that helped.

Re: Lowering question

I am the wrong person to ask about how low you should go static, I would just bag it. But if I were to want a static truck, I would go drop spindles, three inch lowered coils, and a very good shock for the front. Rear would get three inch drop leafs, three inch blocks, and a very good set of shocks. Add a notch and an alignment and you are set.

Re: Lowering question

it sounds like a 2/3" drop with spindles and blocks w/trimming of the rear bumpstops is the best way to go if you want to keep factory ride. i noticed as soon as i played with springs the lower i got the rougher it rode.

Re: Lowering question

Take the drop coils off and add some stock coils with some drop spindles. Make sure you get it realigned. Don't forget to cut the bumpstops.
