Re: Good Lowering Kit?

i just called belltech and was like i need to know the spring for this spring(insert partnumber) and he said 350
so i said another spring for newer v6 dude said that is also 350..then i checked for the blazers as they have even different partnumber..dude said 350 again..

so i asked..you are telling me all the s10 springs are 350..he said well as i see it here yes. yes they are...at that point i was like ok well thanks

then i got mine tested after the guy at western chassis didnt know what they were...

also found hotchkis has 600in/lb springs for g-body(monte carlo, regal...) that has same front suspension as us..so we could get normal 600in/lb spring if we had v8 and wanted to handle. or go with the coilover kit from qa1 with 700in/lb springs if you are serious..but im not that overkill on my v6 so 550 should be ok

Re: Good Lowering Kit?

Yeah mines a V6...so you guys dont recommend 350in/lb...even if the part places recommend that....I should go higher for better quality drive?

depends on what you want really. lower rates will make it feel like a boat, higher rates will make it feel like a gocart.
whichever you want

those part suppliers are there to make money.

for a good riding, yet good handling vehicle i would seriously consider the western chassis springs and just make sure you get springs for a v6.
another way to go is with 2" spindles and a set of v6 zq8 springs which will give you a total of 3.5" drop which is pretty good.

anything more than a 2" drop with a spring could start giving you issues with your control arm hitting the frame. a lot of people run more than that, but i have encountered issues with 3" springs bottoming out the control arm on the frame. when this happens weird things happen and it rides like crap.

Re: Good Lowering Kit?

I had heard that western chassis was the shiz. I ordered a full suspension job from them 2" spindles w/ 1" spring, 3" leaves w/ 1" block...hopefully it'll be low and handle nice.

Your ride looks good sonoma!

Re: Good Lowering Kit?

it wont make it ride rougher the shocks will control how it rides.

the sway bars ill just help it with leaning in the curves

they will help keep the truck flat when cornering at higher speeds

so the zq8's are the best to go with? Can't you only get zq8's used not new? I dont know how I feel about used stuff when it comes to performance.

unless the truck was in a horrible wreck, the swaybars will be totally fine.
zq8s used will be the best bang for the buck.
aftermarket ones are usually inferior, and they cost about 4x more

why is the wreckers outta the question?
junkyards/scrapyards are good places. most places will not sell damaged suspension components.

but watch on the forum as well.

and for the front, 2dr 2wd blazers have the same 33mm as the zq8s
