IMO they only look good in big sizes, what size are yours Air Forces?

In the big version they look sweet as hell, small ones just look kinda like cheap rock crawler rims to me :/

Re: cragar soft 8s w/ drop post pics!

Its a 3.5/4.5

Done under 70$ =D lmao

Front are 1" drop coils with 1 coil cut off, and the rear is 3" blocks with a pulled leaf.

Re: cragar soft 8s w/ drop post pics!

No, its good!

Rides better than stock, at least in my opinion.

Then again roads where im at are not ****ed up like everyone elses lol

It might ride a lil bit rough if i had like less tire or 18s or something.
I have alot of tire so its like cushion haha

Re: cragar soft 8s w/ drop post pics!

wouldn't cuting the coil kill your springs? but i'm looking to drop it a 3/4 so far i'm going to go with this from what i think. dont know much about dropping it but correct me if i'm wrong. obviously it would be a 3/3 with this but i would need a 1" block if i'm correct for the back, right?

Re: cragar soft 8s w/ drop post pics!

Well a lot of people will tell you cutting coils is bad or something bad will happen BUT then again there iwll be guys telling you theyve drove on cut coils for years with no problems.

I havent had any problems so far so i think its okay as long as the coil is expanded by heat.

But yeah that pretty much looks right. Good setup.

Im not sure about whether you need drop shocks for the rear or not since youll be using drop leafs.. idk how that works because i never had them but im sure someone could tell you.

Not my truck, but they're 17x8's in the front, and 17x9's in the rear. I can't quite remember the tire specs, but I believe they're 245/40/17, and 275/40/17 - don't quote me on those tire specs, though!

Re: cragar soft 8s w/ drop post pics!

so i was looking at lowering kits and i over read that DJM was a good brand to buy from.
would this work for my 96 L4 4WD? i'm not too sure if being 4wd or 2wd matters.

Re: cragar soft 8s w/ drop post pics!

yea 4wd to 2wd matters. 4wd suspension doesnt have coils or spindles it has control arms with torsion bars. 2wd you could do drop spindles and springs and drop leafs and/or blocks in the rear.. but 4wd in order to drop it you have to do drop keys and blocks/leafs in the rear...not sure that this is the right thread to ask that question though..

Re: cragar soft 8s w/ drop post pics!

Ok well 17s and bigger look tits then with the right tire profile, that's a good width choice too airforce

lowdown customs I am 4WD, and you are correct.
Or you can ditch the torsion bars all together, lose 80+lbs, and go adjustable with coilovers

Haha, this isn't my truck! I do know the actual wheel specs, though - It's got 17x8 up front, with a 235/45, and 17x9 in the rear with a 275/40. All of that sittin' on a 5/5 drop.

They are saying that they are both Cragar Soft 8's but the hole designs look diffrent. I really like the ones on the blue truck better with the bigger holes that are closer together.

I think they are the same wheel, but different sizes, I beleive the above is a 16", and the bottom is a 17", I think the holes get bigger because the distance between the hoop and the hub is greater

Well that sucks because I really like the 17" rim holes better but I need a 15" rim.....
