Bump stops?
Im new to S10 forum. No one could help on blazerforum with this one. But I have a 99 4door blazer Ive lowered it 2/2 so far but I wana drop the back more to make it look lower. But my rear bump stops are already hiting with just 2in blocks in the back and I was wondering do I shave them? or can I just cuz some of the bump stop off? I have alot of bumpy roads and dips were I live and my blazer still gos places it shouldent cuz its lowered but Im woried about bottoming out.

Re: Bump stops?
you can do that to remove the bumpstop, but it is in his best interest to remove the whole bracket assy as well

Re: Bump stops?
I looked at the bump stops on stylin trucks and Im not sure if mine bolt up like the ones they sell. I know my bump stops are just pushed up into the bracket on the frame. But I think Im going to go with triming them.

Re: Bump stops?
i swear you bunch of idiots can find anything to argue about..
but for the original question, blazer - pull that huge foam bumpstop out (it pops out of the metal clamp mount) and trim it down. Theres 3 large sections to the bumpstop, i cut the middle section in half and then round the end over to a point so i looks just like the factory end. This softens the impact when you hit them. Reinstall. truck - just cut the entire metal bracket off along with the rubber. |

Re: Bump stops?
Here's how I did mine for my 2" block drop...
I popped the snubbers out and cut them at the 2nd groove from the bottom which shortened them about 2.5". ![]() ![]() At ride height... ![]() Later, Doug |
