it has something to do with the spindles or something. search around there are a few threads on it.

Re: blazer xtreme losing brakes 4/5 drop

your rear caliper bolt is hitting the frame causing the brakes to go outl.. thats what happened to my blazer

also, check the brake line on your rear pumpkin and make sure it's not hitting anything, might just be a prob with a lowered 4WD blazer but I think I remember seeing a thread about it a long time ago . . .

Re: blazer xtreme losing brakes 4/5 drop

I remember people moving a brake line up front as well. If you are losing pressure when cornering it is most likely getting pinched or rubbing, which neither would be too great of an idea to drive with until getting fixed.

It's in your front brakes. You need to trim the upper arms back a good bit. Happened in both my blazers. When you turn the wheel at full lock or close to it the brakes go out till you pump them.

Re: blazer xtreme losing brakes 4/5 drop

I had a notch in the back of mine but I rode around for a couple of years without one. Should have gotten it sooner... made a ton of difference. I just had the bolt on one from suicidedoors.

I'm sure that's what your problem is with the brakes. I rode with mine like that for a long time. Kind of dangerous, but I got used to it and could feel when it was going to happen.

Re: blazer xtreme losing brakes 4/5 drop

also with the bolt in notch, if you didnt trim a little off the bottom corner your brakes will hit that. so check your control arms and the notch where the bolt is closest

Re: blazer xtreme losing brakes 4/5 drop

if you have belltech spindles and you bought them new and they have instructions READ THEM!!!! they tell you exactly what to do with the front spindles...

its amazing how many people dont read the instructions that come with their parts...even if you have installed 100 spindles, if you have never installed parts on a particular vehicle you need to read or at least glance at the instructions.

if you dont have instructions then its cool..but if you do you need to look over them.

also here is a pic for reference, notice the freshly painted area..the entire lip is cut off

Re: blazer xtreme losing brakes 4/5 drop

but what if the sharp turn creates body roll, letting the back caliper bolt hit the notch? im not disagreeing with you, it could be one or the or the other or both, just throwing that out there.
