best way of getting 4/4 money wise? (no cutting)

i dont exactly get paid alot so im trying to save for a 4/4 or 4/5 drop (spindles, coils, leafs & blocks and ofcourse shocks) and wondering whats the best place to get it and should i piece it together little by little or save up and get it all together? also any reccomended brands for certain parts?

Edit: FBI has a 4/4 kit for $334.95 consisting of spindles, coils and 4" blocks. any experience with 4" blocks vs leafs and blocks?

id have to say post what you need in the classifieds/wanted section, assuming you have already checked the static suspension sales..i have seen leafs go cheap on craigslist from time to time. i would recommend belltech products

yeah shippin will really hurt you if ya buy piece for piece.. and whenever you change something such as your leafs and coils your ride will go to hell, using block doesn't change the ride quality.

well my truck already rides like a wagon so coils would actualy help in my situation, as well as new shocks for the front and rear. im worried that with 4" blocks the leaf perch, bottom of leaf and u-bolts would be close to the ground and catch on things. any experieces with blocks this size?

There was a thread about the 4" blocks on here somewhere, it may have gotten pushed back to like page 3. But the leaf perch hangs pretty rediculously low and so does the bottom shock mount. Not very safe if you ask me.

You would get a smoother ride with leafs in back vs the blocks, but blocks are $30-$50 whereas the leafs can run you up to $250. You gotta pay to play. The block will also give you some pretty bad axle wrap under heavy acceleration. Both will give you bad wheelhop, our trucks suck with the wheel hop and there's really no means to stop it other then traction bars and more expensive components.

Also, don't buy from FBI. I beleive they use Chassis Tech components, which you will read on here both companies have some pretty bad rep. Why would you look into getting a 4/4? Why not 3/4 or 4/5? That would look better IMO and it would level the truck out some.

I have a zq8 with 4 inch blocks and have not once had my perches or u bolts that needed to be trimmed but arent' get caught on anything at all. Youll catch your crossmember everytime before you ever hit your perches

my crossmember doesnt hang under my frame so im good as far as that goes. can you take a picture for me and to show how low your perhes hang and everything and also let me know what size tires you have on the rear?

and i want a 4/4 because of the drivways and parkin lots i have to go through and a still haul stuff like streetbikes. dirtbikes and stuff.

I'll try and get some pics up tommorow. It's sitting on 245/35/r20's in the rear, but I was on stock swirlies with a 225/60/15 and it still wasnt a problem though. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be

Re: best way of getting 4/4 money wise? (no cutting)

would it be a better idea to just get spindles and 2" coils and shocks and use the 3" blocks i have untill i can find some zq8 leafs or drop leafs? i would really like for my truck to ride a little better than what it does. for some reason its stiffer than stock and the leaf pack only has 2+overload.

You can get some spindles and blocks for now with some newer shocks. If your dropping a 1st gen like the one in your sig, I don't think the ZQ8 parts will work.

There was a pretty big difference in handling when I dropped my 01 ext. cab 2/3.
