Re: 7" or 8"

5/7 or sometimes 6/7 is the lowest people usually go static. 3" coils, 2"spindles, 3" leafs, 4"blocks. Most people just put a kit together using the the brands they prefer. I like belltech stuff. Don't forget to add drop shocks.

not reccomended but you can do.. 3" drop control arms, 2 or 3" coils, and 2" spindles. to get 7-8" out front, and then monoleaf plus a big block.

5/6-5/7 drop is plenty low with a fairly small tire tho man.. good luck

Re: 7" or 8"

dude, do some research before you actually buy anything. i can't even put 20's on my 4/5. if i rode with them on, and hit a bump while turning, my fenders would be toast

and no, you will not need a small notch, you will need a big notch

yea, listen to ryo, he knows what he's talking about. even with my 4/5, i have to avoid speedbumps, steep driveways, little things that you wouldn't think twice about in a regular height truck

Re: 7" or 8"

With 18's you can go that low with a thin tire, with 20's nope.

By the time you can drive then your S-10 will be a classic

Re: 7" or 8"

I you want to ride that low with big rims you are going to have to bag it. I drove my 91 jimmy around with the frame 1 inch off the ground, with a 28 inch tall tire. The front control arms need to be dehumped, inners removed, notched for tie rod clearance, and a full notch in the rear is a must.

My front fenders got messed up from hitting the tires, so I bagged the front. So if you plan on going that low just at least bag the front, you will be happy you did.

Big time! I went from driving like a crazy person to having father time behind me going hurry the F**k up laying on the horn. As was said little inclines you would never imagine having a problem getting up are now impossible. Im only at 4/4 w/ the x it and i scrape front bumper and skirts on speed bumps, curbs etc... without the x kit i would have an inch or 2 at the very most between all that stuff. I learned really quickly you cant to a big drop and expect no rubbing, or scraping of any sort. Its inevitable.

Just got back from a camping trip. My bumper became a shovel in the dirt lol. Its alright tho cause its on there now with about 50 hi-loc's so its not coming off.

Re: 7" or 8"

If you want to realistically drive your truck static, don't go any lower than a 5-6 drop, any more than that, you need bags. I had a 91 ext cab that was 5-6 and I had to be very careful.

Re: 7" or 8"

I had a 6" drop on the front of my truck years ago... drove it around the block once and promply parked it until i could order new taller coils with a stiffer spring rate to lift it back up and make the ride alittle tighter. Even then with a 5" drop i still had rubbing and would bottom out once and a while.

Just do a 5/6 drop for now as you will probably be more then happy with it. Also ya have to remember with that much drop the stock height 205 75 15 tires wont clear the inner fenders for shit, so you will have to get a set of new tires more along the lines of a 215 60 15 which will also lower the truck down some more on top of the drop ya allready got with the kit.

my 03 was a 4/5 drop on 18's. it was pretty damn low. it got old at times and took a lot of explaining to people that had no idea why it scraped when i drove. dates were kinda awkward. lol.

i got a 4/5 on 20's i rub the inners on big bumps. gotta explain it to people like the guy above me. and i love slamming speedbumps. don't ask me why, i just like to. my roll pan got ****ed up the other day when i took a load of stuff to the landfill. big ruts and stuff from the big trucks, the compactor drivers stopped and looked at me like i was crazy. i don't let being low hold me back. i'm about to bag my truck though, so it don't matter.
