Whats up Atlantic Canada?

Hey all,

I just joined yesterday...I've been scoping out the forum for a bit now and decided to finally join and start posting...
I was just wondering how many there are on here from the Maritimes, and where about you are. I'm in Dartmouth, NS...anyone close?

I haven't seen your truck around, you drive it a lot, or mostly for show?

There are a few Bluenosers on here;

YellonomaSS, SonomaZRX, Beyondextreme, low97, Eastcoastdime are the ones I can think of now.

Here is an older thread with some pics of local trucks...

hahaha sweet man. I grew up in Colby actually, right down the street from you. I lived right by Astral schools...for 13 years actually.
Living in Dartmouth in my own place now though. Is your truck a daily? I haven't seen it driving around before.

Nice to see some Canadian on these forums.

http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/9456/dscf1326pc8.jpg - looks so nice with those tires, fills up the wheel wells perfectly. It's to bad they have been slowly fazing out the t/a's.

Thanks Kybosh. Here is the side view for ya.

Come on Ryan...keep up, I did my brakes two years ago...

and the paint is still holding up well after that time and two winters of Northeastern salt.

Re: Whats up Atlantic Canada?

Actually looking at them pics now Barry (is it Barry?) I'm pretty sure I've seen that around...if it's been around for the past 14 years I had to of lol. I only moved from Colby 7 years ago, so you would have been driving it around then.
Sonoma, I don't recall seeing yours though. Are you in Colby too?
Do you guys have any meets or anything you go to? Just wondering if there is anything good in the city.

Some pics of my truck:

The only thing I've added since those pics are "GMTRUCKFORUM.NET" decals on the back window and the windshield. Other then that I'm stock for now, so I look like all the other blazers driving around lol. I haven't seen too many other blue 2dr's with a spare tire around town though.

BTW - Kybosh...where you from?

Re: Whats up Atlantic Canada?

We don't have any official meets but try to hit the local shows as much as possible. Some of the key ones are the Quinpool cruise night, July 17, the Miller Tire show July 19, (Hil who sets it up had the twin to my truck but is now rockin a dropped Rado) and the Racing Around show on Sept 13. Other than that we are often seen at PPP and A&W on Pleasant.

I'm originally from CH and lived with my parents for a while out in Lake Echo. I'm in Woodlawn now though. I'll have to keep an eye on the shows and stuff, I'd love to come out to some and meet up with everyone.

Re: Whats up Atlantic Canada?

There factory rims it's a zq8 sonoma, but you can buy remakes on ebay for like $400 or $500. My new rims will be here in a few days though can't wait. I need tires bad but tires around here are like $800 so I ordered a set of 18"s and tires brand new for $1200.

Re: Whats up Atlantic Canada?

Nice, they look sweet behind the rims. I can't wait to do the back. too far down on the priority list for me now though. Off topic, but have any of you taken the ferry to P.E.I with your truck lowered 5" 5" or more, going over in a week to golf. But I'm not sure if I can get on and off the ferry, cause as I remember the ramp is quite steep. Thanks.

Beyond...very nice I have the same jackstands

Very nice brake setup.

ZRX, I haven't taken the ferry since the bridge went up, my wife hates boats...but yes I remember quite a drop onto the ramps.

Re: Whats up Atlantic Canada?

I agree. From what I remember it was a pretty decent drop onto the boats. Grant it it's been 5-6 years since I've been to the island...even more since I've taken the boats across, so it may have changed.

Yes, we should try to hit up the July 17th Quinpool cruise and the Miller Tire show on the 19th. Both are great events and I look to be free so far. I just have to get the rear of my truck put back together...the old rollpan is off and there is a big hole where the tailgate handle used to be.

Re: Whats up Atlantic Canada?

Crap i've been missing out, a month late, welcome to the forum Sisk. Seen whosbad in CH last weekend, pick'n up some BBQ meat.
I'm going to be at the nationals for that Sunday (July 12), the yellow truck will be sporting some brand new 2010 Camaro style racing strips by then. Been missing out on all the shows, been busy, but plan to hit Quinpool and Miller tire this year, hope to see some GM minitrucks around.

sonomazrx your truck is looking real good, keep up the good work.
