Re: Wynjammer superchargers?

Yea, i am going to buy a new wynjammer I am only going to run about 6 pounds of boost for now .I will be upgrading to bigger injectors soon so for now 6 lbs will be good with the stock injectors and the pcm that comes in the kit. Thanks for the input...

Ya, driving just seems so much... slower now. But such is life I suppose.

Re: Wynjammer superchargers?

I looked into the Jammer when I did my build. I deffinately liked it, and I love the way they sound. I just dont like the added stress on the crank, and just generally dont like the idea of a parasidic draw on my engine

Re: Wynjammer superchargers?

The injectors are installed as of right now. I have my PCM back in and the truck pulls WAY harder up top than anything. I'm still gonna go back to Decatur, AL to Young's Performance to get it re-dynotuned for more power. In other words the injector swap is worth the money if you want a little more for your boosted/N2O vehicle. I highly recommend the swap.

That pic you posted is of the newer mpfi spider. I thought the modified ones were the poppet nozzle type?

That's because in that pic the new injectors weren't installed yet or at my door. The truck was down for about a week in the gargage. I went ahead and pulled the upper intake off to get ready to install the injectors when they came in. I as well replaced the gasket while I had it off.

I would think so man. I'm gonna go take mine to get dynoed and se where i'm at now. I think you are gonna like it. It's definitely a noticeable gain. Pulls so much harder up top than before.

Oh ok. That's what I figured. I'm really glad to see guys getting this spider and being happy with it. I need one. But there's quite a few things I still have to take care of first.

I really love it. It was worth the 450 price tag. It claims 40 more hp but soon i'll see what i gained from it. The truck needs another dyno tune badly. I wonder what i can push with these injectors on the dyno? I hope you get one soon i know you'll be pleased like myself.

Yeah me too man. No one around my town has a blown S-10 like mine. Everyone here is Mustangs/Tuners. Mustang guys are always curious but the tuner guys just wave and go on by. it would be nice to have another truck similar in my town. i have a buddy with a 2000 reg cab Silverado 5.3 with some bolts ons. he's putting a Powerdyne unit on his truck. i think I may be in trouble.

Al got that number from what it gave J.R. He's the owner of one of the trucks on the Jammer site. He is running 6psi has a 270 cam and is bored 30 over. There might be more, not sure.

I'm interested to see what the bigger injectors would do on just a stock 4.3 with 6psi. I'm sure there will be gains because timing will be able to be added but I bet it aint 40hp.

Haha! It's funny you say that. It seems everyone thinks I'm turbocharged as well. I don't care what they think as long as I intiminate them. I think my next mod will be a efi 50-75 shot. 98 SS is the inspiration to this. I want the 2114 intake but the N2O is more hp for $. Although I could build later with the 2114 and a water/meth injection.

I'm pretty crazy with it so I'll probably do a 50 shot first then I'll go with the 75 jet. I think it would be awesome to pull up at a light beside another car and purge a 20 ft line of nitrous up into the air and rev with the infamous whistle. lol

Oh and thanks 98 SS! My truck still doesn't compare to your mean ass 4.3 though. My tag may say it but I wouldn't temp you at a light. lol How's the soccer mom vehicle coming along? lol

Re: Wynjammer superchargers?

I found your forums doing a google on the wynjammers. I've had a bookmark from their web site for almost two years. Up until now, google hasn't given me enough to justify the purchase but after reading this thread, I think I may go ahead and get one. It seems that those that have it are happy. Those videos of 03zq8s10's truck are awesome... NICE TRUCK MAN!

I registered over at the GMC forums over 2 years ago but those guys are mostly v8 guys so I don't really get much feedback.

I think I'll order the kit along with the larger syder fuel system. It sounds like this guy AL is pretty cool. I question the programmed ECU though. I think I'll add a wideband and see what HP Tuners shows.

My only question has to do with my rear end. My HP stock is 195 and 260 fpt. At the moment I have an intake with 3" exhaust. I'm probably slightly over 200hp right now. All I have is my butt dyno. My issue is traction. I can already roast the hell out of 1st gear and can lay black for awhile in second as well. Would I need a new diff or could I just get LSD put in the existing one? Where should I go and who should I ask? I need to figure out traction before I add this wynjammer.

Funny story, I called this shop to ask questions about the diff. I told him what I was planning to do and the guy was a total dick! He said "no, you don't want to do that". I said "do what?". He said"You don't want to put a supercharger on that truck so you really shouldn't worry about the diff". I asked if there was somebody else there I could talk to and he said no so I hung up. I'd rather know exactly what I want to do with the rear and then just buy the shit.

If any of you have some suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Getting the 36lb. injector spider would be a great and safe upgrade. I, too, have my doubts about the tune that comes with it. It's very difficult to tune a truck optimally through the mail. You would always do better getting an actual dyno tune. Besides, since you have a 3" exhaust, you would need a different tune anyway.

If you have an open differential (and I'm sure you do), an LSD would do wonders. You may want some wider tires, too. At this power level, I don't see the need for a new rear end. If it were me, I'd go the salvage yard and find a bigger/stronger stock axle from another full-size truck. I don't know what axles came in these trucks, I'm more familiar with S10s. But, I know there were quite a few axle options for the full-size trucks just like the S10s. Maybe look up some RPO codes for your truck and search the yards with that.

That's because it's an aftermarket hood (Goodmark) It's not going to be a perfect fit but close. I'm too lazy to mod it to make it perfect. My truck is still mean as hell though.

If I'm mistaken you have to cut the hood hinges a bit but I don't really care.

Thanks for the compliment though.

But, I know there were quite a few axle options for the full-size trucks just like the S10s. Maybe look up some RPO codes for your truck and search the yards with that.
Great Idea man. I didn't even think about a wrecking yard. I'm used to buying new stuff but in this case I'll check it out.

If any of you have some suggestions I would really appreciate it.
sierra4.3 - I've got a fullsize silverado and I come around here cuz these guys know the most about 4.3's than anywhere. For your truck I strongly recommend the wynjammer kit, call Al and see all what he's got to offer.

I went with a vortech supercharger, it was nearly a complete kit for an s10 and all I gotta say is DONT go that route unless it's really what you want. I wanted it for the internally oiled s/c with a higher boost/rpm rating. The new 4.3 full size trucks are very different than the s10's, two biggest things is the fullsize truck's firewall is farther over the engine and our airbox is on the opposite side... you can't fit as much intake piping as you can in the s10. Another bitch about the newer fullsize is theres NO quick disconnect or compression fittings on the fuel lines anywhere easy to get to, so you've got to cut/crimp/and make fittings. Also the s10's a/c and heater hoses are routed out of the way where the fullsize has them all behind the engine on the passenger side (another headache when trying to fit intake piping from an s10). fyi - vortech kit is supposed to take a couple days to install, I'm on day 4 and about halfway done. There's a lot of other little things, so if you can get a complete kit from al with everything laid out and ready that'd be the best way to go.

The good news is you've got an 8.6 rear so you can keep the stock rear upwards to 500hp. Problem is you'll need an LSD or a locker to get traction, if this is a daily driver I invested in a detroit truetrac, it's worm driven (like a zexel torsen unit) and will last as long as your truck without service.

The ring/pinion gear size depends on your transmission. If you've got the nv3500 5spd the most you'd want to go is about 4.00 (i've got 3.90's). First gear is different in the fullsize trucks and it's too low geared, but you can still launch with traction. If you've got an auto you'll be able to run a little lower gear (like a 4.30 or 4.56) and still get moving.

A local rear end shop should be able to install gears and differential for 900-1300$. you'll need a tune for the new gear size (esp with an auto tranny). cut the cost in half if you're doing this job yourself

For more traction, look into caltracs/traction bars, and smaller 15/16" wheels with real tires.

Vortech will get you a lot farther than a wynjammer will, and its not internally oiled....you need to run an oil line up from a port on the side of the block above the oil filter to the supercharger to an oil injection nozzle, then have gravity return on the bottom side to the pan.
