VNT turbo idea

I was searching ebay for a turbo for my 4.3 and had a thought...

A lot of us know what a VNT turbo is right...for those who dont its a variable nozzle turbo, basically this allows the turbo to freespool most of the time untill you hit the gas, when you gas it the lack of vacume in the intake(connected to the turbo via vacume line) will vary the deflection of a bunch of little airfoils inside the turbo, you get max boost from the turbo in as little as 300 rpm span instead of 1-2k.

So instant max boost, and vacume controled boost(gas mileage saver).

NOW the problem in the past is that VNT turbos inner workings would not hold up to the high temperatures AT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS of a gasser, and only allowed this wonderfull technology to be used on a diesel with the exception of one supid 4 banger in the early 90s.

Enter the remote mount turbo system. With the turbo relocated to the rear of the vehicle, in this case a ex cab dime, and the addition of all the air under the truck rushing over the turbo itself, it would seem that maybe we can now start to incorporate these wonderful turbos to gas applications.

It all depends on how hot the exhaust air temp would be at the back of the cab start of the bed? What do you think?

Re: VNT turbo idea

well kinda need the temp at wide open throttle after a hard run or two so you get the hottest part of the temp range...im working on it still...

any more ideas short of putting a guage back there? Which btw are expensive and I have no money.
