took it to the track

nothing spectacular, heres my best time......worst 60ft though.

RT .464
60' 2.386
330 5.823
1/8 8.669
MPH 85.86
1000 11.134
1/4 13.199
MPH 109.32

pretty sure the side carrier bearings in my new rearend are on the way out. I threw a belt and grenaded an idler pulley on that run

Re: took it to the track

good job, i would be real happy with the 109 mph trap speed. your truck is alot faster than 13.1 thats for sure

that 60ft is what i was pulling with an open rear last time i went to the track

Re: took it to the track

thats with the new rearend, the slicks get here this week. But i gotta check the bearings out first, or find out if its something else making the noise

109 is nice, i was trying to get 12.9 @ 110, but i started hot lapping it and getting slower. and i only had 1 belt and pulley left.

With good traction, should be mid twelves i suppose.

i was going thru some shit in my head last night and with 3.73 gears and that 275 40 17 (which i run on my tbss great tire) with the 1.0 gear ratio of 3rd on the 4l60e at 5600 rpms will be 115 mph. You will be set to go on those wheels. keep it at 1200 than just stab it 3rd yellow and you will cut 1.6s easy. Hell wiht my 2600 stall and 275 40 17 with 4.10 gears on my truck i cut 1.7s and thing is a brick.

so you know every 1/10 off 60 foot is almost 2/10s at the 1/4. 2.38 60 foot to 1.7 will be at least 1 second off your 1/4 mile time

You have the hop shock right. My truck ran consistant 1.7s-1.8s with the mt et street and new owner cut a 1.73 wtih the 255 50 16 mt drag rads.

Trust me the 275 40 17 will work out fine. Line up do a burn out and just carry it out till you hear it hook and you will be fine.

Re: took it to the track

HOP shock yes but belltech 3 inch drop springs make the transfer of weight much better. he has a auto with a stall.

if you put belltech springs in and have the hop shock and the 275 40 17 drag rads you will cut 1.7s no prob.

Re: took it to the track

I dont have the hop shock anymore, not with the 8.8

Ive been thinking about getting the belltech springs and a shorter block. Right now ive got the zq8 springs and 3" blocks and caltracs

Re: took it to the track

id ditch the caltracs get the bracket for the axle for the hop shock and weld it in. Then 3 inch belltech leafs with some summit nitro slammer shocks in rear and you will be set with the 275 40 17 dra grads.

Re: took it to the track

that 60ft is killing you, your truck is much fast than a 13.1. I was trapping 107 when I was mid to high 12's. get that 60ft to around a 1.9 which should not be that hard and I can see you running mid 12's easy

Re: took it to the track

Other than ground clearance, why would you pick the hop shock over the caltracs? They keep the pinion angle much straighter.

I am definitely happy with the ride of the Belltech rear leaf springs, but I thought they were too soft for cornering. Still haven't run them at the 1/4 mile, but I don't think I have enough power yet to notice the difference.

Re: took it to the track

rims came in today, the MT's come in tommorrow, and gonna use 275/40's up front with firestones fuzions. Still need to get spacers. once those kinks are worked out, the rearend is coming back apart along with putting a driveshaft loop in, then back to the track before the underhood teardown

When you start looking for brake upgrades, let me know what you come up with. Mine needs something better than the stock crap. Especially if I intend to follow through with the next upgrade.

I was looking at the SSBC larger front brakes. I have seen people do the Corvette front brakes on S10s, but a lot of parts need to be custom made.
