havent seen you around in a while. the headers are the next project to tackle. first step will be to get them tacked, welded and ready for the V-band's to be welded on

Jesse, here's the header flange drawing for your review. Let me know if you want me to change anything. If all else fails, I could print out a 1:1 scale print and mail it to you. Or if you have access to a CAD program to print it out, I could email you the CAD file.

So here you go:

Then that's what you'll get. I should be cutting some 3/8" steel by the end of this week/beginning of next week, hopefully. I'll sneak them in with that, I'll let you know.

Everything looks like it's coming along great. Are you having the headers come over the top or hang down beside the engine?

I don't know if they are or not but you may want to have those header bolt holes helicoiled. I'd be a little uneasy hanging that much steel from aluminum heads.

Re: s10ls's new turbo/mpfi/bowtie head project

looks good!

I might be interested in some flanges.. both header and turbo.. the exhaust flange for downpipe. Going to try to reuse mine but we'll see.

Got everything i needed to finish the fuel lines, running the new poly braided stuff so we'll see what happens. It was the only stuff that kinda spelled out it was going to make it with E85 after talking to a guy running it with e85. Plus its a ton cheaper.. fittings are half priced.

This weekend is the assembly.. putting the bs3 harness and unit in, routing/mounting all fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel cell, etc etc.. mounting turbo and oil lines and putting the core support back on with the intercooler in it and going to plumb all of that. Were looking at about 1-2 weeks till turn key at this point. Which is good because i bought a house and it closes on the 30th.. after that all money goes into the house (except the 4l80E project...)

Re: s10ls's new turbo/mpfi/bowtie head project

hey guys. i have a set of mid length headers for sale. they fit, but shorty plugs would be needed, and that may be questionable (i don't have shorty plugs to check that out). so i can't try and sell em for what they are. anyway. maybe someone could use em to fab up their own turbo headers.

ya know, OHIO isn't THAT far away

i bought these a while back, looking to use them. but the pipe is not large enough for me, so i didn't put em on. that was a good while ago. i didn't try to sell em till now, thinking i may mod em to turbo header. i don't see that happening, so out they go. i only want $50 + shipping for em.

lol its just a stock TBI cam, in other words its worthless. thats my mock-up block, NOT the motor (or the cam) i'm putting in my truck

i basically have a complete short block i use to check clearances and fitment issues on various part i'm working on. one day i may build that motor, its a syty block with a heavy crank and nodular mains. this thing better go fast for all the effort i'm putting into it

Re: s10ls's new turbo/mpfi/bowtie head project

i did some tweaking to the tune yesterday and turned the knob on my boost controller up. i took it out for some full throttle runs and am hitting 25psi now. shifting at 4500k rpm. i'm going to try real hard to get some track times soon. expect high MPH with et's that dont match, maybe i'll tune it for 30psi before i go lol

if you want a better finish of welds, use your grinder on the opposite side, like this (Paint )

also, you can use a sandpaper pad for your grinder

whit that metod, you will never see the welds, the result is very great
