Re: quick question

chain the engine down and see if you like it. use turn buckles, make em tight.

Re: quick question

well, i have never had those (what are neo"s ?, poly's ?) nor solid mounts. but would you want to get either of those mounts installed, and then find you don't like them ? if you rig turn buckles in, you will have solid mounts, that will be easy to remove.

me, i have the stock mounts. but, i have a rod bolted to the engine, that goes down through a bracket. this rod has a upper shock rubber damper that pulls on the bracket when i hit the gas. so its not solid mounts, but kind acts like em when i gas it.

the only way my blower setup would be for sale (not including tragedy). would be if i desided to go with a screw type blower. so don't hold your breath. and besides, nobody would want to pay for it.

Re: quick question

change them to solid. I can't feel the difference and if ur turbo manis are routed like mine u might melt them. The only downside is changing transmissions is difficult because the solid MM's allow almost no movement to help tilt the motor down

Re: quick question

I have Energy Suspension poly urethane (not spelled right) motor and tranny mounts, anti-sway bar bushings and link kits. My supercharger inlet duct was hitting the master cylinder, no more! If your mounts let go it will be trouble, you are also losing torque through the drive train. Why are you worried about your motor rocking? Get the power to the ground!

Re: quick question

I have solid mounts throughout on my stang and I love it. It prevents the motor and tranny from flexing. It will give you more response on the rear wheels.

Re: quick question

I felt a difference in switching over. I ordered mine on ebay. You'll just have to browse the net for them. If your going to replace the motor mounts you might as well go ahead and do the tranny mount, It's the easiest one to do.

You will notice more when you do both, only doing the trans is not advised as with the motor still flexing you can crack the tail on the trans with enough power. What I did was go from motor to differential and take up the slack where ever I could. You will feel it through the wheel and in the seat, with the tranny set up right there is no hesitation in the shifts as little torque is lost. I don't see the reason for going solid unless you are at the track, poly works! Energy Suspension has served me well, only my opinion though!

Re: quick question

i would not do all 3 mounts solid. because the frame is going to flex, but the engine/trans will not want to. so things could break. but i say this not KNOWING its true, just what i am figuring.

Re: quick question

If I wasn't running Boosted Thrills' frame pads with Energy Suspension polyurethane SBC mounts (which I'm happy with), I would run what this guy is building:

The frame flexing anyways under normal driving, With a 4 banger under the hood I don't think it would do any damage.
