Here's what this guy did...

He used to be here on the forum, but he got the boot a couple of times for various issues.

It's a later-style injection setup, but the basics are the same.

Re: pcv system on a remote mounted turbo?

I did that and i eventually jus run a catch can. you need to keep the crankcase from boosting, or else u will blow seals like its your job. I did all of of them, oil pan, intake manifold twice and valve covers

Put a one way valve in the vacume hose going to the pcv. What about a pcv valve for a Buick Grand National.

damn blowing smoke would make me nervous. do you built motor guys have loose tolerances or something? i've never had any issues with any of this

Re: pcv system on a remote mounted turbo?

just the name of the game. all engines build crankcase pressure. If you dont smell oil if your running open......you cant smell!! lol

Im getting ready to change to an exhaust scavenging system. No more catch can and less under hood clutter.

Re: pcv system on a remote mounted turbo?

the motor was professionally built for boost and built with loose tolerances. I still have over 100psi in all cylinders

i've smelt it on other cars, and my truck was doing in the very early stages of the turbo build. it dissapeared after some tuning and a few hours of idle time. if its blowing out the breathers its not doing much of it. my firewall is sealed up very well also

i've seen the exhaust setups on various cars, cool setup if you need it

Re: pcv system on a remote mounted turbo?

Does that work with a turbo/catalytic converter?

I've usually just seen them run into the intake before the turbo.

Re: pcv system on a remote mounted turbo?

wouldnt want to do it with a cat. it sucks the oil and fuel vapors into the exhaust and burns them off. It would shorten the life of your cat.

i have mine vent to to a catch can, and the intake side of the PCv valve is on the intake of the turbo but it dumps oil all in pipes

Re: pcv system on a remote mounted turbo?

I extended the existing hose with clear braided tubing (to view any possible oil) to the blower ducting inlet. It connects with a 90 deg. barbed fitting, the inside diameter is a little smaller. I have never had any issues to date, cold cranking pressure when last tested was 165 psi. This is also compliant with emmisions standards, they might get me though for not being 14.7 AFR above 2,500 RPM!
