Brand fuel for boost or nitrous?

Now that Im using nitrous Im wondering what everyone else is running 93 octane wise for their boosted or nitrous trucks. I've heard not to use shell in these cases and not to use fuel with 10% ethanol? Just noticed the sunoco that I get my 93 from has gone to 10% ethanol.

Re: Brand fuel for boost or nitrous?

I used husky/mohawk 94 octane with 10% EtOH in my truck when it was S/C'd and in my turbo trans am (301T not 3.8T). That's what the tuning shops around here recommend. I know they don't recommend Shell here but that could be just a local thing.

Re: Brand fuel for boost or nitrous?

I used to care. I don't anymore. I just get 93 at what ever gas station that is close are on the way to where ever I'm headed. As long as it isn't some run down POS. It's usually Hess, Chevron or BP.

Since the 10% EtOH deal I don't put anymore fuel then I need for the week. That sh!t goes bad fast.

I run Chevron or Shell 93. Most places here are running 10% ethanol.

IF the track has it you can get VP 100 Blaze fuel. Its unleaded and DOT legal for the street and no eth.

My local track doesnt sell fuel that I know of unless they have it in some shed somewhere haha, Just found out this past weekend that they have air in one of the buildings to pump up your tire pressure if you let too much out.

Re: Brand fuel for boost or nitrous?

you can add zylene to your ethanol blended fuel at the rate of 3oz p/10gal and that will eliminate the effects of 10%ethanol.you'll get a boost in mpg also up to 10%.this is an additive in fuel presently but was cut way back 20-25 years ago cuz it had a negative effect on added ethanol.this was told to me by an ex refinery employee in the lab section.i can tell you it works been doing it for 2yrs.

Do you mean "xylene"? Because zylene is a diet pill.

Re: Brand fuel for boost or nitrous?

Ha I was just about to ask that since I searched for zylene and all I came up with was diet pills. Atleast I didnt ask how many diet pills would equal 3 oz LOL

Re: Brand fuel for boost or nitrous?

Probably from Home Depot, Lowes or a paint supply store. I've used it to thin coal tar epoxy.

Re: Brand fuel for boost or nitrous?

I have been using 94 octane with 10% ethanol for about 5 years in my truck. Never an issue.

Lately I have been using VP MS109 race gas with the 125 shot.
