Re: adding nitrous got a spark plug question

I'd recommend some Autolite XP104 spark plugs. They have a slightly smaller gap than stock and they are also 1 heat range colder than stock. If you don't want to spend the money for the XP, you can get a regular Autolite 104 and it'd work just fine.

NGK TR6 also works well, was never a fan of putting autolites in a GM product

Except for the fact Autolite has been the manufacturer of AC Delco plugs for a few years, and those Autolite made AC Delcos are OE in GM products.

Re: adding nitrous got a spark plug question

NGK TR7IX. Is the way to go with 75 100 125 on a V-6 4.3. 150 175 would be TR8IX and 200 225 250 are special number NGK 9 and 10 range.(Very cold of course)
Good luck

Re: adding nitrous got a spark plug question

No retard of timing up to 100shot...I would say about 3 degrees for 125...if you have some balls you could even advance timing upto 100shot

Re: adding nitrous got a spark plug question

ok thanks, wow, 0 degrees?
Im running 1 step colder plugs NGK UR6 vs the stock UR5's and 4 degree retard on my 75 hp shot. I still need to do more testing and tuning so I will back off on the timing a bit and see how it runs. By the way my truck is a 94SS 4.3 CPI engine.

I am not too familiar with cpi..but I run 10 degrees advanced on my n/a tune...so at 0 degrees from stock I am actually running my n2o tune 10 degrees retarded..

same theory would work for you...whatever your engine is happy at n/a just retard 3 degrees for a 75 shot.

Re: adding nitrous got a spark plug question

ok so you are running retard. Im running 4 degrees right now. I will bring the retard down slightly once I am able to test and tune with more time. Last time I ran, the nitrous was shutting off since the fuel pressure was dropping under 47psi. I have a Walbro 255 pump that I need to install before I can do any more testing. Once I have that, then I'll bump up the jets to the 100-125hp shots once I get the 75hp just right which is the min hp level for my direct port setup.
