4.3l fuel questions.

working on a 2000 silverado with a 4.3l. will be installing a turbo shortly and i need to know how much hp the fuel system is good for. i do have a fmu. i'll be using hptuners to tune the ecu. with out the fmu how much hp or boost can the stock spider injection thing handle, and with it. i tried some search but there is so much to weed through i thought i ask. if you have a good link please post it. this is my first 4.3 turbo build. i myself have a 04 tahoe with a turbo'd 5.3l.

Re: 4.3l fuel questions.

Guys running wynjammer S/C's can make about 210 rwhp without an FMU. I could only get about 200 rwhp out of my truck without one but my tuner didn't spend alot of time messing with it since an FMU was on the way. You probably know this but meth injection can make up for alot of fuelling - they had to pull a bunch of fuel from my tune to lean out the A/F ratios when I started spraying.

ur Maf will compensate but around 270hp its maxxed out. Ur best options are fmu, good for 300whp with 150psi in the fuel rail, secondary injectors or 2114

Re: 4.3l fuel questions.

ok so they are 23lb/hr at gm fuel pressure. i don't think the guy has money for meth right now. maybe a upgrade for later. i have meth injection on my tahoe and it works great for cooling the iat's off. sorry for the ignorace but about how much boost would it take to get to 300hp? he does have a fmu. here is what i have to work with: a guy at work got tired of his sts on his v6 tacoma. so took it all off and installed headers, intake, and exhaust. so the guy with the silverado got everything for $900. the tacoma guy had the upgraded turbo for his v6 so i figure it would be a good size for the 4.3l. it has a fmu in the kit. i'll go out in the shed and get the name of it. i'll get the size of the turbo too i seem to have forgoten it.
