Question What's missing on this vaccum hose tee fitting?

Yeah I know I need a new hose. The tee was on there when I bought it w/ no hose connected to one end, I couldn't find a hose that could go on it so I just capped it off. Just wondering what's suppose to be there or if the tee is something someone added to the hose?
BTW it's on the drivers side next to the booster.

If it's a 2nd gen, there is a ball type vacuum reservoir under the fender. Kinda hard to find.

Re: What's missing on this vaccum hose tee fitting?

hmm well my 91 doesnt have this at all

my vacuum ball is way overon the pass side wheel tub up on top right out in the open and has a tee totally different than this one and is neat the distributor in the back down low by the intake rear middle

the only rubber hoses on my driver side at all are the washer fluid tank pump and the cruise control on the driver side wheel tub top

original engine never pulled and nothing removed or modified

good luck

Re: What's missing on this vaccum hose tee fitting?

Thats not a T, it is a check valve that trys to keep the vacume in the ball for your vacume accessories (vacume doors on your HVAC/ Cruise controll, etc.)

Re: What's missing on this vaccum hose tee fitting?

I would call it a combination "T" and Check Valve.

Re: What's missing on this vaccum hose tee fitting?

Well, yeah, the checkvalve part just only lets vacume past the inlet, the T part allows vacume from ball to accessories.

Re: What's missing on this vaccum hose tee fitting?

When I installed a cruise control on my '05 cavalier I used a 1' long piece of 2" PVC pipe and 2 endcaps, drilled a small hole in one end and glued a vacume fitting in place, worked great. And I also had the stuff around (looked for a vacume ball and I was getting $50 + prices.

Re: What's missing on this vaccum hose tee fitting?

if you have small hands... you can get to it by taking your tire off and unbolting the fender liner or wheel arch liner whatever you call it, pull it down as far as it will go and youll be able to see it. it was a bitch replacing the hose for mine... i didnt take the fender off, i just crammed my hand up there, felt for the nipple on the end of the ball, and squeezed the new hose on there...

Re: What's missing on this vaccum hose tee fitting?

I agree with yogi, it is in fact for the vaccum ball. 1st gen trucks have this on the passenger fenderwell. 94-97 is on the hood and 98+ is inside the fender.
