what are these rubber things on my oil pan?
a general oil pan serach yielded no results. i changed the oil in my 01 X last night for the first time since i bought it a few months ago. i noticed two rubber tubes/hoses hanging down off the oil pan toward the back. about 1-2" in length. they arent noticeable unless you are under the truck. wtf are they? they just hang down and dont appear to go anywhere. it was getting dark so i didnt investigate too much. just curious.

The only thing I can think of that one could be is the vent hose for the starter. That is a guess though.

Re: what are these rubber things on my oil pan?
they are just plugs for the access holes for the two
rear most oil pan bolts. they have to be pried out to reach the bolts. |
