Re: valve stem seals?

Intake valve is bigger than exhaust valve.

Re: valve stem seals?

Intake and exhaust valves are different sizes but I thought that the valve stems were the same. Maybe there is something different about the bosses on the heads that are different.

Re: valve stem seals?

Valve sizes are different but the stems are the same size, hence the valve seals are the same for intake & exhaust. Did you ask what the difference between the two sizes were? Maybe the valve guide diameters changed between the earlier 4.3's and later ones.

Re: valve stem seals?

thats what i thought, i figured that the stems would be the same sizes and obviously the valves would be different.. i asked them but they could not tell me what the difference was.

Re: valve stem seals?

does anybody know what the valve stem sizes are for a 89 4.3L. iv came to a conclusion they are either 11/32 or 5/16. i look on summit and the 5/16 are the only ones that the application guide has 4.3L under but a summit tech told me they were 11/32?? im confused
