Torque Converter Bolts

Re: 1999 S10 4.3 Auto 2WD

Ok, before I break something, what's the trick to removing
these torque converter bolts through the starter hole area?
Obviously the engine rotates with the flywheel, so what is
the best way to remove them? And what is the exact size?
They seem to fit 15mm, but I assume they'd be standard?

Re: Torque Converter Bolts

They are metric. I used a wrench on the crank pulley (5/8 socket) to hold it while I bust them loose, then use an air ratchet.

Re: Torque Converter Bolts

small 3/8 impact gun,i have a bad-ass snap-on one. Hit them with a small hammer first, sometimes it helps. Are these the steal looking 15mm bolts or a aluminum ones that have a allen head hole in the middle?

I have had to use a impact hammer with a flat chisel to get them out.let us know how it went. Sometimes a air ratchet will work, sometimes not
