Swapping from a 2.8 to a 4.3 what needs to be done?

As i have mentioned a couple times i have recently gotten ahold of an 1989 GMC Jimmy 2wd. Now currently the truck has the 2.8 TBI engine in it. What is all required to swap in a 4.3 TBI besides the engine and trans?

guess this has turned out to be a moot point since the Jimmy has the 4.3...When i inially made the deal with my friend to get it i was running on what i remembered about the truck from before and i thought it was the 2.8.

Re: Swapping from a 2.8 to a 4.3 what needs to be done?

Gonna bring this back up again because im debating changing out the 2.8 in my Blazer. Now I would be installing a carb on the 4.3 to make things a lil more simple. Im assuming i may need to change the engine mounts and the transmission along with switching to a 4x4 pan and oil pump pick up. Anything else needs to be changed? The Blazer has a 2.8 carbed engine in it right now.

i would go v8 instead of 4.3, it will cost just the same, and you will have more power

v8 uses the same tranny bolt pattern and a 4.3 v6
