Gm does, it has been out since the v6 one did. The v8's use the same injectors, there are just 2 more of them.

cool, i wonder if these things are easier to control with FAST.

if they are, i might put the FI back on the vortech.

I'd rather wait on the O2 sensors if possible but I may end up doing them. Money is kind of tight right now. I'm not familiar with the GM top end cleaner. Any further details on that or how its used. I guess the best place to get it is the dealership? The fuel filter is a good idea. Air filter is a K&N so I'll probably just clean and reoil it.

Re: SCPI to MFI upgrade kit...

Kinda off topic but is there an upgraded spider for the CPI motor? 92' thru 95'?

I've heard of their manifolds but I didn't know that they were involved with FI.

I'm afraid not. The CPI system uses a continuous or "Batch" injection and cannot be converted to MPFI. The PCM just doesn't support sequential injection.

Has anyone with the MFI attempted to swap to larger fuel injectors?

No one makes biger injectors for these intake manifolds.

There's larger Multec 2 fuel injectors available, is there not?
Or is there something proprietary about these fuel injectors?

The tip and disk are multitech 2 injectors. They don't have o-rings or anything like normal injectors. The Fuel tubes are still heat srunk onto the inlet of the injectors. Have you seen pictures of these things?

Ugh, sometimes GM pisses me off...

Are the Multec 2 *connectors* at least standard connectors?
Meaning, can I get some Multec 2 to EV1 adapters if I wanted
to use the assembly to connect the truck's harness to my own
intake and some EV1 injectors? (As opposed to splicing wires.)

Re: SCPI to MFI upgrade kit...

Just splice the wires, it takes about an hour. You can't do what you are saying because you would throw away the stock fuel metering body anyhow, so you are left with the massive 12 wire plug that goes to the stock fuel metering body.

I do not wish to cut into my stock wiring harness right now.
I'm swapping on a marine MPFI intake w/ MotoTron injectors.
My goal is a way to connect the factory fuel inj plug to the
new injectors w/o cutting.

I came across this new MPFI assembly and was curious if it
was a solution for larger injectors w/o all of the intake swap
work, but apparently not. So now I'm just curious if I could
use it as a way to connect my factory harness to my EV1s.
(Or EV6s if I stick with the marine MPFI injectors for now...)

Re: SCPI to MFI upgrade kit...

Does the MFI assembly use "standard" Multec 2 connectors?
E.g. Can I get Multec 2 to EV1 adapters and they should work?

Re: SCPI to MFI upgrade kit...

It doesn't matter what type of connectors the new injectors use. You still use the same big plug with all 12 injector wires on 1 to plug into the new injector harness. You will need to cut that off, and splice your 12 wires. If you leave a little bit when you cut it off you can always put it back on.

Stock the fuel metering body and where the harness plugs in is the same. You are getting rid of the fuel metering body, and therefore need to cut the part that plugs into the fuel metering body off and replace it with individual injector plugs.

Look at the pics on the first page of this thread... It isn't that hard, how do you expect to swap manifolds, recalibrate the computer, move all of the emissions stuff around, and you are worried about cutting into your harness?

I'm not cutting anything to install the new manifold,
move emissions components or re-tune the PCM. I
will use the new MFI assembly in order to plug into
the factory wiring harness and have 12 wires that I
can easily splice into -- or use Multec 2 connectors
that already exist w/ adapters to easily plug into my
EV1 injectors w/o doing any splicing at all.

Word is the injectors are not standard Multec 2, so
that's why I'm curious if the connector is actually a
standard one or something proprietary, too?

Re: SCPI to MFI upgrade kit...

sorry that i havent been around guy!!!

update

the truck still runs great, got 24.4 mpg when i went down to Fresno on my trip and that was 90% freeway and some town drive (only 13 gals) but i still think are gas tanks are bigger but the gas gauge is empty at 12 to 13 gals

as far as the problem im have when its really hot out i still have and im going to order a new cat. off eBay and see what happens its the only thing i haven't replaced

DON'T get me wrong
this swap got my gas mileage back and the truck runs better (now that my tires are shot.... ill leave that for another trend)

the mfi kit helped 90% of my problems!!

Good to hear your results!

You can find the exact capacity of your gas tank in the option codes on the glove box door. Look for Nxx and go to the RPO Decoder sticky. Mine was NE2 - 18 gal.

Re: SCPI to MFI upgrade kit...

If I only went by using the guage from full to empty I would have a 12 gallon tank. The sending unit HAS to be off a good amount on my truck. I was just over a quarter tank tonight and it took 8 gallons to fill up.

The tank size is programmable in the PCM. Maybe yours is off by a bunch.
