oil pressure sending unit

I have a 1999 s10 4.3 .im having some issues with my oil pressure gauge. It usually stays pretty much at the exact same spot all the time but lately the gauge will drop off to almost zero then bounce right back up and hold there for abit.
it seems to do this every few minutes will driving.
im pretty sure its the sending unit.

what do you guys think?

also where is the sending unit located?
