My kick ass eBay intake!!

For the 3rd time here it is! I still have a bunch of weight in the back but I can definately tell a difference at WOT. If you're even thinking about getting an intake get one from 4caroption.

Old intake.

The new guy, this is complete AEM Brute Force copy.

The filter is much like a K & N, same style and feel. It didn't specifically say if it needed oiled or not, it smelled like it was. I still have to message the seller and ask. I am extremely happy with this purchase though.

I guess I'll put it up here too. This whole kit was $50. My one major complaint is that it didn't come with instructions and it took a little educated guessing as to what went were but I got it figured out, save for a random washer and a self tapping screw for the heat shield that I couldn't get it.

Edit # 2- The yellow loom and painted fuse covers were done by the previous owner, not me. The blue tape on the old intake was to cover the hole made when I did the IAT mod about 3 years ago, yeah it looked ghetto but that's why I have this new one. Yes my engine is dirty, it's 20 degrees here, I'm not cleaning shit till it warms up.

how much was it? that intake bonnet might work great on bodydropped trucks that want to keep a stock hood.

Way back when I did the IAT mod before I realized it was completely worthless, so that was my second best option. I was broke and couldn't afford a new intake. I'm glad I have this piece now.

Re: My kick ass eBay intake!!

bought one 2 days ago - glad to hear your happy with it! it cost me a bit more with shipping to Canada though, probably $70 total. 4caroption has the same intake listed a bunch of times at different prices so make sure you get a cheap one. some other sellers are listing the exact same ones for $115 or more.

Re: My kick ass eBay intake!!

Let me know if yours had instructions.

Since it's claimed to be an exact copy I thought I'd check out AEM's website and see if they had any, but I came across the MSRP. Suckers. http://www.aempower.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ProductID=517#

Their site claims 11 HP and 11 TQ, mainly in the upper RPM's is where the gain is, like I said, I noticed a difference mainly at high RPM's. Looks better either way.

Re: My kick ass eBay intake!!

it'll probably take at least a few weeks to get to Canada, the border always slows things down. holy crap the MSRP is redonkulous on the AEM site! $304! cool that they have a dyno chart for the 4.3 and that it actually looks like a reasonable pull for a stock engine. 11hp is alot for an intake if it's accurate.

Yeah that's what I thought too, but it doesn't seem ENTIRELY out of the question. The best way to tell is to dyno it myself, which I can't so too bad so sad.

Re: My kick ass eBay intake!!

I mostly want it to clean up the engine bay a bit, i'm sure it's not going to make a huge diff over my gutted airbox and K&N drop in. i really can't stand trying to pry the top of the airbox off past that rad hose every time i want to clean my filter.

Re: My kick ass eBay intake!!

Search for the seller 4caroption make him one of your favs. He only puts 1 or so up at a time. You'll get notified when he puts new auctions up. I told him in an email to put more up because of this thread and that you guys would love it but I guess it fell on deaf ears.

Re: My kick ass eBay intake!!

Just got mine today and just finished putting it in. Mine also didn,t come with instruction so it made it kinda PITA to install and what bolt and screw goes where. Over all I like it the throttle response is better and at WOT I can feel a diffrance. Very Good find!! Took less then a week to recieve it, fast shipping and great packaging.

Re: My kick ass eBay intake!!

Can you guys tell me what city they're out of ? I'm in SoCal and
if it isn't too far, I'll hit em up about going and picking one up. I
can't see paying that shipping price if the place is close to local.
I don't know if they'd go for it or not, but I'll try if those of who
have received their's take a look at their box's shipping label.
Thanks, bg

I gathered they are in SoCal because of the high sales tax. But if they are like other sellers I think thier shipping is high so they can send it cheap and make a little more money. I have seen other sellers with dirt cheap prices but a flat rate of shipping that is out of this world. But even thought I know it would not cost $25 to ship to Northern CA I did not mind because it is better than paying $150+ shipping
