Max HP from a 4.3?

My brother has a 93 Jimmy with a 4.3 in it, and I was wondering how much power can it make with a full rebuild, and for how much? What have you guys got running in there?

Horsepower is relevant to how fat your wallet is. Set a goal on what you expect the output to be and go from there.
Decide also if you intend to use any form of boost, ie: turbo, supercharge, nitrous, or stay non-aspirated.
Lots of variables are needed to answer such a generalized question.

250 is an easy goal to reach with all of the little mods out there. if you study up on what your doing and are willing to spend the money you can see around 300 NA.

by rebuilding a block without the balance shaft you can get an easy 300 with 350 internals. heres the link from hotrod.com http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/e...ild/index.html

i peppered my oil pan with piston/rod material when i put an msd box and 10MM wires on my motor.

Maybe it was that MSD sticker on your fan shroud that did it-engine couldn't take it.

jeez, i put a fart can muffler on mine, lost power..... due to the motor straining more under load, i blew 3 head bolts through the hood.

ya, stickers do add powerr, like the whipple charger sticher i put on. but nothing adds power like the tornado i put on mine! they say up to 35+ H.P. but i got atleast 120 extra powers! i can see through walls now!!! and thank god i can only see through womens cloths!!

I hear that a Tornado gives you 65-90 MPG extra too. Is that true?
