Sounds like coil or ignition module. I'd take the module out of the distributor first and take it to Advance/Oriellys/AutoZone and have them test it first. Make sure they run the test at least 3 times so it'll get warm and see if it's bad.

Not to hijack the thread, but where exactly is the ignition module in the distributor? i am having this same problem and would like to see if this fixes my problem too. Also, which store did you take it to, to get it tested?

take the distributor off look at where the electrical wires are going that little black box is the module. If you are having the same problems as I said I did then that will be the issue I dont have any problems with bogging down or loss of power anymore after changing it. I went to the junk yard and got one if it didnt work then that was not my problem lol I did not take it to get it checked for me its too much of a hassle to test stuff unless it is near me.. Im sure auto zone will check it if they can im not for sure if they can or not..

How many miles is on your truck? Oil in the plenum may be blow-by. If your truck has high mile's the oil could be sitting in the heads longer than needs (sludge build up in the drain ports) and oil's going back through the PCV or the brather tube

Re: Loosing Power When Warm

You mat try something like Slick-50 or some Lucas, but 9 times outta 10 if you've changed the PCV and your still getting blow-by it's time for a overhaul. Do a goole search on Engine Blow-By that'll give ya a idea of whats goin on.
