gas gauge goes up and down

Every now and then my gas gauge will drop as i'm driving down the road.Yesterday it went from 3/4 full down to 1/4 in like thirty seconds.I let the truck sit for a little while and it's fine back up to 3/4 full.This only happens now and then.It dousn't effect the way my truck runs.

Mine is always atleast 1/4 off, showing towards full. I learned not to trust it after running out of gas a few times.

I had that prob. with my truck. I took the sending unit out and cleaned the contacts, that all but fixed the prob. It was about 1/8-1/4 0ff, now about 1/16th off.

mine does that too. Thought it might have been from takin the needle out too much when i was switchin gauges. No clue though for sure

i just trust the mileage cuz my gauge moves all the time

thats nothing mine when full will jump all the way to e to the half tank and all over. its ****ing crazy idunno what it is

Its the least of my problems now. It doesnt matter how much gas is in the tank with a blown motor.

mine flicks back and forth slightly when the blinker is going or when i tap the brakes, or shifting the transmission from park through the gears.
