Re: Changing Oil

If you crawl under from the driver side it should be right there close to the oil filter. It's located on the side of the pan there. It's a 15mm socket.

Re: Changing Oil

Yes i did get it all the way through, the point is theres NO room in there to turn a screwdriver. as well i am turning it the right way, towards the passenger side going counter clockwise from the driver side.

Re: Changing Oil

are you using the longest screw driver you got. that is what i use to get mine out and never have had a problem. you should need much room just to brake it lose. once you do that you shold be able to get you hand in there to get it the rest.

Re: Changing Oil

I have never used one on mine as the filters come off rather easily. But on the cutlass I had a chain wrench worked really well. It just kept crushing the damn thing down smaller and smaller until it couldn't get any smaller and the it would come out.

Re: Changing Oil

I usually use a band wrench to get them off if I can't get them with my hand. The pan is so close to the filter that you can't really get a filter wrench on it. I just can't believe we have to go this much into detail over a damn oil change.

Re: Changing Oil

Re: Changing Oil

That's why I use K&N oil filters. They have a nut on the bottom of the filter that uses a 1 inch socket to make it easier to tighten/untighten.
