Bell housing bolt thread and size

I'm putting a 97 4.3 into my 99 sonoma. The bolts that mount engine and trans together won't thread into the new motor. The bolts I have are m10x1.50. Anyone know the standard thread size? I'd hate to putt motor back out to to figure this out. Thanks

Are you sure you have a 1997 engine?
