4.3 Compression
Anyone that has checked the compression on their 4.3(preferrably 1996+), I would really appreciate knowing what the correct compression is supposed to be.
I have looked several places on the internet and even in official repair manuals and all I can find is that they are supposed to be close to each other. I simply wanna know average psi numbers of a good 4.3. Thanks. |

Re: 4.3 Compression
I recently did a test on my 91 4.3l v6 and it read 180psi on all 6 but I'm having trouble so my results may not be typical.

Re: 4.3 Compression
I just did a compression test on my "X" VIN code '98 4.3 with 160k miles. The highest cylinder reading was 190, the lowest was 180 and the rest fell in between.

Re: 4.3 Compression
Above 100 PSI is ok, the higher the better IIRC.
