1991 S10 4.3 Heatercore replacement.

Is there a easier way to replace the heatercore other than taking out the entire dash? Is that the only way? Any tips someone can give me?

Re: 1991 S10 4.3 Heatercore replacement.

When me and my dad replaced the one in my truck we didn't take out the entire dash, but we did undo the 8 or so bolts holding it in because it has to be lifted up a little bit to get to one particular bolt head in there...I think most of them were 1/4 in. as well...

when i did mine a few yrs ago all i did was drop the steering column down and pull the ps side of the dash out. its probably easier to do if you take out the whole dash but its by no means necessary. just remember to put stuff back properly...i forgot the hc cover and had to take most of it apart again

Yes there is an easier way if you're doing a 91. Go here. Pictures will blow up
when clicked. Sy's are the same setup as s10 trucks when it comes to the heater.
