1989 4.3l problem

I have a 1989 s10 blazer 4x4. that has just under 200,000 miles on it.
the problem is under load or heavy acceleration it will have a engine pop. or stutter. it dont backfire. it just misses i guess is the best way to describe it. it has started doing it worse in the last couple weeks. and when it does misfire it will sometime be a single pop. or multiple pops in a row. it losses all power when it does it also. what will cause this.

thanks, chris

Time for a tune up?
What troubleshooting have you done? and what were the results?

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for much.
But they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.

Yeah, what Bill said, plugs, wires, GOOD cap and rotor, if that is still NG, then check the drive gear on the Distributor for excess wear.
