Tbi 4.3 / Upgrade

Gathering parts for my upgrade a caddy cia w / highflo aircleaner, bored stock intake and a 4.3 tbi;then noticed a problem,no bosses or bolt holes for the cable bracket. The 4.3 on the left is off an 89 s-blazer,had it laying around for awhile.

I've also been wondering about this one myself. Is it pretty much a "bolt on" upgrade? What all does it do for ya?

Re: Tbi 4.3 / Upgrade

What it does is solves one bottleneck in the factory 2.8 design (lack of airflow). On a stock 2.8 you use the bigger TB with a bored out intake with the 2.8 injectors and it feeds more air into the motor. Untill somebody solves the second problem (lack of flow in the heads and I highly doubt they will) we are stuck with them or do a hybrid swap.

Yeah, the 4.3 tbi w/2.8 injs on a 2.8 engine or you could possible use the 4.3 tbi w/4.3 inj on any of the 2.8-3.4 engines depending on state of developement,it's like putting a larger carb on an engine for more airflow but with the ecm controlling the injs you want them to be a manageable size. I have read of legit 200 hp 60's with ported stock heads. With no bosses you were still able to drill/tap without problems?
