severe engine miss and lack of power

well i found out why my s10 ran so poorly and had a severe miss today,it had a burnt valve,at least i bent valve and an egr valve that was stuck open,i was suprised because it appears to have had the engine remanufactered, the pistons were stamped 10 over and it was painted gray under all the oil leaks ,well i'm not sure what route to go on this thing because the valve seat in the head is really bad, and i dont wanna spend a small fortune rebuilding this lil motor.

You may as well look for a 3.4 you'd be happy with the swap

Re: severe engine miss and lack of power

a simple vavle grind and a new valve should only set you back 150 bucks plus gaskets. if the engine seems to be new then why remove it? the head is induction hardened and it penetrates about .010-.015 into the head. the seat may look bad but maybe not bad enough to lap in a new valve. so maybe grab some lapping compound and a new valve and fix it on the cheap
