possibly a wire short?

84 s10 2.8

gets spark, gets fuel to the injectors
i can hook a ground wire up to 12 volt battery to the injectors and the injectors will work. i can do this and get the engine to start and run as long as i pulse the wire to allow the engine to burn the fuel

but by doing this im almost certain it is a shorted ground wire somewhere.

anyone else have this kind of issue
