Oil filter

OK I got two questions. first one is were is the oil sending unit at on my 86 2.8 S-10? and the second question is were the oil filter screws into does that part bolt into the block? it looks like it does. I think mine is leaking oil from there. thanks.

1. The sender is right next to the oil filter. It is to the rear of it.
2. The filter mount does unbolt from the block.
If you are going to keep your vehicle, the under 20 dollar price for the manual is a great investment. I have a Haynes, and it has a picture of what you are talking about.
