Re: No fuel???
it could be, only take about 2 mintues to pop it out. had mine tested a few times and it passed. where ever you take it, the have to test it at least three times to make sure its not a false positive or negative

Re: No fuel???
should be able to. you take the air cleaner off, then pull the dist cap. you may need to take some of the wires off but make sure you mark them. the ignition control module is black and sits under the rotor and is on the front side. it is like two small screws, i believe like 8mm and you take out and three clips that you unclip. be careful because they can break. take that out and take it to the parts store

Re: No fuel???
Back to ECM, Light Blue, Light Green Wire to connections Pins D18, D14 Red/White wires on injectors should go to fuse block ECM1 fuse thru a Pink/Black wire from some common connection point.
EDIT- Did you check for 12v on Red/White injector wires with ignition on? Wasnt sure you got that, if not may have to try an ECM. Did you test the PickUp coil in the distributor. Last edited by lesterl : 06-22-2008 at 10:17 PM. |

Re: No fuel???
i got 12 volts on red/white wires and no ground when i crank. pickup coil is good and the ignition module is good as well. it started great the first time i went to restart it. i hooked up my headlights and taillights and went back 2 days later and nothing. my friend did hook the battery up backwards, but i caught it before i cranked it. i know the injectors are good because i hooked em on another truck and it started

Re: No fuel???
yeah, i replaced my ecu and have 12v to the injectors. im still convinced it has something to do with a loose wire with mine, just have to trace it

Re: No fuel???
i traced out my wires from the injectors to the computer and they are good. is there somewheres the computer gets it ground from to go to the injectors or is the computer itself

Re: No fuel???
as far as the ground on the computer side of the injectors it is not a constant ground but a pulsed on/off/on/off/on/off ground (will float high when off as 12v on other side of injector coil, will show 0v when activated since computer side will ground it out, happens real fast, best to use a noid light) Have you ohmed out the pickup coil yet? If it tests ok, probably your ecm, time to junkyard diving or pick one up somewhere else.

Re: No fuel???
Does the thing start with a squirt of starting fluid? If it does the ignition part of the ecm is doing its job and the p/u coil should be good? Something to try anyway, I would suspect ecm at this point myself.

Re: No fuel???
BACKWARDS? WTF, that should toast something as most electronics do have diodes across the power inputs to prevent damage from this, you may just have a lot of blown fuses, found many bad? Might have fried a couple other things, ECM may be ok, may not. Replace/ Check fuses and try cranking it over, maybe you fixed your original problem. ![]() |
